Convicted for Stealing Bad Info to Sell to Pepsi

posted by John Craven at 12:41 PM

Today, a federal jury convicted Joya Williams, a former Coca-Cola secretary, of conspiring to steal trade secrets from world's largest beverage maker in an effort to sell them to rival Pepsi.

Now, as someone who has sampled all of Cokes products that have come out of Coke over the past couple of years, I’m really curious to know what the secrets were. The secret formula to Gold Peak? What are you talking about? Who's throwing hate? Some secretary stole confidential files and tried to sell them to a competitor...who is bashing Coke here? This person made a bad decision...simple as that.

Plus...your opinions of Coke's products, though passionate, are without factual basis. Vault is not breaking any sales records anywhere. Full Throttle is doing well but is not in that #4 spot quite yet.

Finally, Dr Pepper is not owned by Coke either. Ever heard of DPSU? It stands for the Dr Pepper/Seven Up Company. The rights to bottle and distribute Dr Pepper vary by geography and is carried by BOTH Coke and Pepsi depending where you are.
