Cocaine Energy Drink Makes Fortune’s “Dumbest Moments in Business”

posted in Uncategorized |

Fortune just put out their 2007 “Dumbest Moments in Business” list.  Featuring 101 items, the list features only one beverage related “winner”: Cocaine Energy Drink.

Not only were they sandwiched right in between “#16 - Microsoft’s PR Firm” and “#18 - Royal Society for the Protection of Birds”, they beat out questionable moves made by O.J. Simpson, Don Imus, and, yes, even Keith Richards.  So perhaps ranking #17 is an honor for Redux Beverages after all.

However, it is worth noting that we’re still talking about Cocaine Energy Drink months after it was pulled from the shelves…which certainly shows that the folks behind it did something right.   Perhaps they’ll have better luck with their latest endeavor, “Brawndo: The Thirst Mutilator.”

Yeah it was a really stupid name and product, tasted terrible too. The fact that it is still being talked about doesn’t mean much to me… Some people will do anything for a few minutes of fame and cocaine energy drink was one of them, maybe if it had been a good product it would be different, but it was horrible.
