To commemorate Coke's 120 anniversary this year, Japan is bringing back the diamond coke can! Check it out! I got this at the coke convention a few weeks ago in Atlanta! On the back, it mentions 120 yrs of Coke.

Hey Pete, that can is really nice. I bought one from eBay a couple of months back. When I first saw it I thought it was an original one.

Here is a pic of the diamond cans I have. The top left is from the USA, top right is Japan. Bottom row from left to right is UK, Australia, and USA.

That particular design was used from 1961-1966.

Why can't Coke here state side produce a commemrative can like that for us collectors?

Yes, the diamond can with coke bottle was used from 1961-1966. I wish Coke would produce this for us as well.

In Argentina they're also celebrating 120 years of Coca-Cola with the release of a set of six conmemorative 8 oz. bottles, one like the first Coca-Cola bottle: the hutchinson bottle, and two of them like the bottle with the diamond label...

the only difference is that this hutchinson bottle has crown cap :D

Wow, those bottle look great. and only $1.50ars, that's about 50us cents.
Again, Why is Coca Cola not going to do something like that here in the US?

The Company web site metions it, but no fancy promotions with it.

Coca-Cola Mexico haven't released special packagings or promotions about the 120 years worldwide (and the 80 years in Mexico) of Coca-Cola...

In fact, Coca-Cola Mexico is more focused on the Soccer World Cup and the mexican soccer team right now...

I agree with jmy, why don't they do a cool promotion like that in the US. Are we to stupid to care about a products history or something?

Other brands have done it in longnecks. I remember the recent Sundrop/Golden Cola, Cheerwine retro, and 100years RC Cola bottles.

In fact the large diamond can with the bottle in the pic above is from 1966 and the Harlequin cans are from between 1966 and 1969.

The large diamond cans were originaly export only cans produced in 1955 as an experiment and were shipped to U.S. soldiers overseas. There were 6 different large diamond logo cans produced in the U.S. 3 without the bottle and 3 with the bottle.
