Are you sure this is/will be a US product?

Pepsi has been known to market coffee colas elsewhere.

My eyes are still full of "sand" (sand man LOL) from sleeping. I at first glance, thought the lable on the can said Pepsi Turd. LOL

If this is an actual American Pepsi Brand, get ready for another failure. :(

the "flavoured" and the content (325 ml) tells me that is not american... in fact the logo looks like the thai Pepsi Latte.

WTF! Coke copied *PEPSI*

Pepsi did this 10 YEARS AGO! Note the old PEPSI font...

Wikipedia says "Pepsi Kona: a short-lived product that was market tested in the Lehigh Valley and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania areas between 1994 and 1996. A mix of Pepsi-Cola and coffee, it is said to have tasted more like coffee than cola."

Tarik is a product for Southeast Asia. Ready to drink coffee is much more popular in that part of the world, so can't blame them for this introduction.

Coffee cola was a fad in 1996...There were probably about a dozen brands at the time. Cafe Cola, Java Cola, and Pepsi Kona are the only memorable ones. Coke did not, however, have an entry during this time.

I have a can that looks just like this but mine is called "Pepsi Latte" I bought it in Thailand earlier this year. I wasn't a big fan of the stuff. It was available in Vietnam when I was there too.

I've noticed that the fanboys never scream about "copies" when they come from Coke. In this case SplitLevlP is expressing not only his bias, but his ignorance. Pepsi Kona aside, Pepsi Tarik has been on the market since last September.

Pepsi had this product out before Coke Blak debuted. I bought a can of this last year, way before Coke Blak came out..

Coke was the copycat, just way behind...

I'll be the first to admit that Coke is hardly leading the pack on coffee-cola hybrids. Though I personally think the whole segment is pretty darn lame. But as was already pointed out taste varies by region so let the market decide I suppose.

coke may have copied, but at least they had the class to put it in a fancy package and over-charge us. ;)

I don't know if I would call it class...they had to decide how to take a miserable product like Blak and actually make some money on it. Hey, I know! Put it in a glass package so we can charge a premium for it! By the way, don't tell the consumer what nasty concoction is inside...just label it "Fusion beverage." :D

And we had it in the UK since November 05. It's marketed as Pepsi Max Cino here.

Pepsi Kona in U.S... Pepsi Tarik in Southeast Asia... Pepsi Latte in Thailand... and now... in Mexico: Pepsi Kaffe... I found some cans today at Comercial Mexicana...

It's practically the same logo as the Pepsi Tarik can, but it says Kaffe instead of Tarik and comes in a slim can (300 ml)...

I'll give my review about the taste later...

Actually I just saw it but I didn't bought it... (I was going to buy one can but instead of it I better bought one of the few cans of Coca-Cola Citra Light available in my town) :D this weekend I'll buy a can and I'll scan it...

sounds great! how long ago was coca cola citra discontinued?

Ram0n C0keah0lic
06-16-2006, 10:42 AM
Coca-Cola Citra was discontinued around August or September 2005, while Coca-Cola Citra Light was still available as part of the Spacio Leve lineup in a 310 ml can, but since the arrival of Caffeine Free Coca-Cola Light in the beginning of this year, Coca-Cola Citra Light is starting to disappear...
