This will be available this weekend in WNC markets. They have been spotted in some Walmarts and will be interesting to watch how well they are introduced and perceived.

Walmarts here have them. Same amount of soda as 12 packs but a higher price.

It's a Wal-Mart exclusive package. Others are selling 6 packs of the 8oz cans for $1.99.

I started seeing the 18 packs at Charlotte and Winston-Salem Wal-Marts a couple of weeks ago.

Also noticed that some supermarket chains have just recently started to carry 8oz. Shasta Shortz (usually found only in Kmart around here.)

And 8oz Coke 6-packs have started appearing in greater numbers - at Lowe's supermarkets they had promotions (tied to the store's loyalty program) with 8oz Mello Yello and ReMix.

Supervalu picked up distribution of the Shortz. They are now being stocked at an indie supermarket chain that is serviced by Supervalu in the area I work in.

I was misinformed (a pepsi DSM told me they were WM exclusive).. or, Pepsi decided to put them in other chains. The display of them that I saw in the super wally in Lancaster, PA was really short coded.. Pepsi and Dew were July 26 (while the regular 12pks and 24pks were October). I think the mist was May.

I've heard a lot of scuttle that Pepsi put them in other chains at the request of several major nationally known retailers (I'm not at liberty to say whom) who threatened to cut Pepsi's shelf space down to nil if they kept giving WM the exclusive on them.

There's also a rumour that they're not selling very well and that's also led to them being put in other chains.
