View Full Version : Splenda flavored beverages

I personally am not a diet soda or beverage fan. I do however drink flavored waters like Dasani(Lemon, Raspberry, and Strawberry), and sometimes Fruit2O. I have also consumed to test out Diet Coke with Splenda as well as 7-Up Plus. However after anytime I consume a beverage with Splenda it leaves a dry-scratchy like feeling in the back of my throat. I have noticed it gets the worst if I attempt to chug or half-chug a bottle of Splenda sweetened water. I was wondering if anyone else experiences anything like this? As a note drinks I consume which use HFCS do not cause this same problem to me. smile.gif

Splenda causes my tummy to have IBS symptoms.
I would see your doctor, my guess is that you are having an allergic reaction to Splenda.

You may need to give up on Splenda before your symptoms move south.

Diet Coke With Splenda made my stomach hurt. 'Nuff said.

But I can put Splenda in my coffee, in my cereal, (when I can afford it I like using these because they dissolve quickly) have the dasani strawberry water, and I'm fine. I don't get it.

The few Splenda flavored drinks in Mexico are available only in Yucatan and Quintana Roo, and they're from Bepensa, the Coca-Cola bottler in that region, here's some of them:

Beverages sweetened with Splenda actually make me more thirsty. That really doesn't help me.

Just curious.... does Pepsi One give you that seem aftertaste?
Try one and let me know. To me, it's the one of the few splenda beverages that does not have that burning aftertaste. Just curious about what you think.

I tried Diet Coke with splenda and enjoyed the taste. Unfortunately, I live in Canada, where Coke has no plans to market this beverage. I have yet to find Pepsi with splenda either in Canada or the USA. I would be REALLY happy if Pepsi marketed their diet products with splenda in Canada.

Diet or not, cola products make you thirsty because of the carbonation.

You should be able to find Pepsi One just about everywhere in the US.

Also, I thought Pepsi tried Pepsi Edge up in Canada - whose formulation in the US was half sugar and half Splenda. (Not sure if it was the same in Canada) A while back this picture was posted here of returnable bottles from PEI, and there is a Pepsi Edge bottle included:

Actually colas with Splenda don't really affect me. After I have tried more to determine what it is, it seems to only be from flavored waters. So any type of flavored water with Splenda causes those symptoms.
