What kind of profit margins do you think a bottled water company bottling only drinking, distilled, and spring water can achieve by doing mostly private label bottling for retailers.

Arm chair guess: 2.5 times total gross costs????

Ex. 1gal of Spring water = T.G.C. of 25 cents
$0.25 /T.G.C. times 2.5 = $0.63 selling price to vendors. Net profit of $0.38 per gal.

Another way is 10% of Wholesale selling cost: Ex. 24pk of Zephyr Springs sells to wholesaler at $3.25 per case net using 10% as a multiplier you would get approx. $.33 per case

We have looked at bottling drinking water. 24 bottles ($ 2.40), 24 closures (.30), 1/2 height tray, glue & stretch film ($ .30) & labels (.24). You need to add a packaging charge of x amount). Then we think again.
