It's available in Pittsburgh now, from CCE. Saw 20 oz. Cool Packs, and 2L. No sign of Cherry Vanilla yet, that one really intrigues me. No sign from PBG-Johnstown either. Seen in Wal-Mart, Kmart, Target, Sheetz, and Giant Eagle.

They are both good. Now as for reg. Cherry Vanilla Dr Pepper it's very good. Almost as good as Vanilla Coke.

I tried the Regular Cherry Vanilla DR Pepper a couple of weeks ago from ABC in the Quad Cities. I don't like it and would pass on buying it again.

Should be out from ABC in Chicago and Michigan. No sign of it from Pepsi.
I wouldn't knock it until you tried it from someone that isn't ABC. Their product usually sucks.

Diet Cherry Vanilla tasted kind of like Red Fusion plus some vanilla extract...not a very difficult concoction

I recently tried a 20 oz. bottle of Diet Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper, my review is it was too weak tasting.
01-02-2005, 10:54 AM
man i really wasn't all that impressed with it.
have yet to see it in michigan from ABC, only from cce-detroit in 20oz form.
01-04-2005, 02:59 AM
man, this stuff is still not available in chicago...
been checking nearly daily for the last week...

I tried three 20oz drp cherry vanilla and also think it has a weak, bland flavor. It's hard to tell what it tastes like. Thumbs down on this one.

ABC is now producing CVDP and DCVDP in michigan. it's not slotted in many chains yet, and there's no real big hubbub about it yet, like there was with 7UPLUS.

Found some at the Wal-Mart in Charlestown West Virginia over the weekend. I think it would be good stuff if not for the disgusting taste of aspartame sweetener. The aspartame ruins it.
01-10-2005, 09:53 PM
What is it sweetened with?
01-10-2005, 10:09 PM
Pepsi Americas in Indianapolis introduced both today. It has no shelf space or cooler space, and there is no advertising. I don't like the taste of it so I don't care. I give it three months.

still cant find this in IL at all..
i have tried the regular and diet and cant wait to get 12 packs of each... the flavor is subtle but thats not a bad thing IMO..
anyone have any idea when this will be in chicago/burbs?

I have still not seen any from RC Winchester. Are they going to do regular? I have seen it from CCE-Twinsburg, PBG-Johnstown, and now PBG-Baltimore.

Here in Boulder the supemarket had been carrying the Diet Cherry Vanilla, but have not seen the regualar.
How ever, I have only seen a limited number of 12 packs, even fewer 2 litre, and some 20oz.
Hopefuly the regular will come out soon.

Not all parts of the country are supposed to get the regular.

Today while shopping I noticed they've issued both (normal, non-diet) Cherry Vanilla Dr Pepper as well as the Diet here in central Wyoming. It's in distribution (Pepsi carries Pepper here), and I saw it in a few places, in 12PK cans, (didn't check for other conainer sizes though.) The date on the can was like 12/29. I bought a 12pk of the CVDP, I thought it was good, and I liked it better than the diet I had a couple of weeks ago.
(and speaking of the Pepsi bottler here, I also noticed they are still producing the old Wild Cherry Pepsi and Diet Pepsi - although if you want the new WCP, you can get it if you buy it in 24 ounce 6-pack PETs. Its available because the WY bottler doesn't bottle that size, but rather they buy it off the Denver bottler where they chaged to the new formula several weeks ago)

Has anyone seen the Diet or regular in Connecticut?? It is apparently in RI and NY so you'd think we'd have it. I have searched a bunch of places in central CT. Thanks for any info!

with the faltering of red fusion, the general consensus is that only diet drinks are strong, and that diet cherry vanilla dr pepper can only help diet dr pepper, while dr pepper will sell itself when needed. plus bottlers might only want one new product, thus, the diet is being pushed. the big three are pushing diets a lot right now.

With sales seemingly so poor, has anyone heard if this has been discontinued??
04-12-2006, 04:37 PM
Diet and Regular CVDP have not been discontinued, and I have heard nothing about sales being poor. They were originally intended to be limited edition products, but they became permanent since they sold so well.

I've seen the Diet version for a long time, with the regular only appearing more recently.
The local bottler even had 24oz Diet bottles before they brought out the regular in 20oz. smile.gif
