Coke's first branch into citrusy non-diet cola...looks to be exciting! What do you think?

Honestly, I don't see this lasting long. I'll definitely give it a try, no one's been able to get this to sell, regular or diet.

Pepsi Lime Twist is coming, I just know it.

it's about time, however I am still waiting for lemon Coke to come out. Coke was not really to innovative last year so they are trying to make up for it from what I read.

Believe it or not I have spotted 24pack cans of Diet Coke/Lime. It must be a pretty good seller to be in that package. I saw them in the Quad Cities from (PA) Eagan, MN.

I tried Diet Coke with lime in my visit to the US, and in my opinion tastes bad as the lemon version, so I hope that Coca-Cola with Lime has better taste that the diet version.

Doesn't sell up here at all. It vanishes daily it seems in terms of amount in the markets.

Diet Coke w/ Lime sells pretty well here, and I was pleasantly surprised at how drinkable it was. Maybe drinking Baja Blast softened me up to lime flavoring or something.

I like Diet Coke Lime but their Diet Coke Lemon tastes like its flavored with lemon dish soap.

Diet Coke with Lime is not a "big" seller here either.

From what I've heard, Diet Coke with Lime was/still is the best selling diet drink.

Best selling flavored diet drink.

It's actually the best selling flavored diet *cola*.

Best selling flavored drink or not, consider it basically has no competition, except Twist, and Diet w/Lemon.

It's about 50th on the radar scale. That, to me, doesn't constitute big anything. If this was any other drink (a regular drink), it would equate to something big..a big failure.

You forgot the vanilla and cherry varieties as well.

Best selling flavored diet cola is nothing to sneeze at IMO.

I can't imagine that it's 50th nationally or they wouldn't be making a regular version. I'm guessing that when the sales data is released it will come in at about 40-50 million cases. The thing is, Lemon sold about 40 its first full year and declined from there. I think Lime will have more staying power than that and probably even more than Vanilla, but I think they are jumping the gun releasing a regular version. Diet Pepsi Twist sells more than regular and I can't think of any other soda where that happens.

Best selling flavored diet cola is nothing to sneeze at IMO. If your in an industry that is innovating their line by offering different flavored colas, I'm sure it's something that doesn't hurt to be #1 in.

It sells well around me. A lot of people I know drink it, which is odd for a non-plain-cold diet soda.

For a diet soda, it doesn't taste much like diet soda. I know a lot of people who have turned diet drinkers because Diet Coke with Lime doesn't taste too much like a diet soda.

I have to disagree, you can taste the diet flavor in diet Coke more than you can taste it in diet Pepsi.

The only difference between Diet Coke and Diet Coke with Lime is the lime flavoring added.

If they were to switch Diet Coke with Lime to Splenda instead of aspartame (NutraSweet) then I would agree with you.

The Diet Coke flavors are made with an aspartame/Ace-K mix. Diet Coke and CF Diet Coke are just made with aspartame.

I haven't seen the numbers for 2004, but in 2003:

Diet Vanilla Coke 23.1 million cases
Diet Coke with Lemon 17.1 million cases

I'm sure that in 2004, Diet Cherry posted big gains, with the relaunch and repackaging. Diet Coke with Lemon probably lost even more cases (the numbers were down over 50% from 2003).

From my limited experience, phillysteve, Diet Barq's Cream outsells Barq's Cream (you said you didn't know of any diet outselling it's regular counterpart).

Diet Coke w/ Lime fridge packs have 10 slots on our shelves. I'm not even sure they give Lemon two anymore (it used to have 4, I think.)

Ok,
Diet Coke with Lemon does not taste as good as their European cousins. Does any one have any insight as to why?

D/Coke w/lime is a fine drink.

I am excited about Coke with Lime, any one have any info on the roll out?

The stickers on the Coke cases and fridgepaks say coming mid-February.

The Coke rep that does my store has tried some already. Said the lime flavor is not as strong as the diet version. He also has tried the new flavored Dasanis

The lime flavor in Coke with Lime is definately not as strong as the flavor in the diet version. Plus, you don't have the artificial sweetener taste in there, either.

The labels are also the first to exclude the "and/or sucrose" part.. which I am sure e-dud would be happy about!

We were told that Coke with Lime would be out early March around here. Flavored Dasanis should be out in about 2 weeks. I've had the lemon, it seemed to be a bit syrupy. But it was warm, so it could possibly taste different cold.

I'm looking forward to this, although the word about the lime flavor not being that strong is a bit discouraging. I was disappointed when they reformulated Pepsi Twist and made it sweeter and less lemony.

I actually ventured to try some Diet Coke with Lime (even though i hate diet) and it wasn't that bad. I don't think this will last that long though, seeing as how it doesn't really appeal to that large of an audience.
