Talked to my sales rep today and he said that Pepsi Jazz Caramel Creme is coming out soon in the US and MAY come to Canada too. Just thought you guys would wanna know. What do you think?

I think it would rock if it came out in regular and not just diet. I've always wanted to try a caramel flavored cola but if it's going to be diet, then I will be out of luck. That is good for all you diet drinkers out there though.

The Caramel Creme will be a Jazz flavor - which means a diet...there will not be a regular version.

Jazz is doing well here but all we carry it in is 12 packs so I guess that probably helps.

LOL
Did I not many moons ago on this very board dream about a Caramel Creme cola variation soda pop?

Didn't most of this board say that this was too far out to even imagine?

Looks like I may be getting the last laugh. ;)

(I'm too lazy to dig up the actual thread. LOL)

And when I tried it... I was really let down.

But I'll try this. smile.gif

Sounds good. I hope it's not as harsh as the other Jazz flavors though.

Mr Zabe
10-19-2006, 09:17 PM
Well it will be harsh as it will be sweetened with aspartame. Just the nature of the beast. Now it these Jazz flavors were of the HFCS/sugar variety IMO that would be real cool. smile.gif

Trust me, I'm used to diet sodas, and the Jazz flavors are particularly harsh.

I think you're confused Yankee...its Coke's flavored colas that are consistently terrible! tongue.gif

Hey CStoreCatMan I actually agree with you on this one. Pepsi's non-diet flavored drinks are great!! Cherry pepsi and pepsi vanilla and pepsi blue when they made it. I hate Coke and I don't think their flavored cokes are any good either. I definitely give pepsi the upper edge in this one. When it comes to the diet ones I wouldnt know though since I never drink diet.

Agreed, I know Jazz's tag is the diet flavored pop, but I can't stand the harsh flavor of diet!

Please bring me some real sugar (or, in a pinch, HFCS)!

Please bring me some real sugar (or, in a pinch, HFCS)! I don't even think it's the aspartame/ace-K that makes the Jazz flavors so harsh to me - I think part of it is that they're really, really acidic. I can never drink either flavor without getting a pretty bad case of heartburn. And I know someone else on here said they had the same experience when they tried it.

Many on the boards agree with that opinion about Coke's flavored colas...not all, but quite a few - even some confirmed Coke riders...

The sad thing about Caramel Cream Jazz is that it is probably the best tasting, most original one but will most likely not make it because bottlers are starting to get hosed by the 2 current flavors and will be aprehensive to take it on. Jazz came out of the gate strong but sure has gotten soft lately.

The current 2 flavors do OK around here, I think the biggest thing was the location bought heavier than it should to start out with but PCNA was basically forcing it onto the bottlers. As it is now, the location can order as needed and the OOD numbers have drastically reduced because of this.
I agree that the CC is good, but it will not get the attention that it should by the bottlers or by the retailers due to the overanticipated hype surrounding the original two flavors.

The Jazz flavors are doing well in 12pks only here. We have discontinued 2Liters and I haven't seen 20oz for a while either.

Curiously, I saw a lot of people buying a bottle each of regular Pepsi and the Jazz flavor of their choice.

Pepsi Jazz IMO is more a kin to the fat lady who sang the blues and now is binging on her tart Bon Bon's. :D

I tried the Strawberry & Creme and is really good... the bad thing is that I will have to wait until the end of the year to try the Caramel & Creme one... dang...

Pepsi Jazz doesn't seem to be doing well around here. Everyone I have talked to that has tried them hasn't liked them too well. Granted, I am around a bunch of college students all the time so that is probably why, but...I don't think they are very great either. If they came out with a caramel and creme pepsi in a regular version, I would buy tons of it. Is there any chance of that ever happening though?

The Strawberries and Cream version of Jazz seems to sell really well in the part of Texas that I live in. It's a relatively large university town, and while there is usually a surplus of the Black Cherry French Vanilla the Strawberry one is sold out quite often. I consider the Strawberry version to be my favorite soft drink, I have high hopes for this new caramel version. When will we be seeing it in stores do you think?

I've noticed that Jazz is pretty much gone in my area... but I really want to try this flavor.

i tried the strawberry & creme and liked it at first, but, now... not so much. it may just be too sweet for me. not sure. but i'd try the caramel & creme, just to see how it tastes.

I've been waiting for this stuff forever. It seems like August or so when I heard that it was first coming out.

And as mentioned above somewhere, how big are the chances of its release in the US given the previous flavors' lukewarm sales?

All the Jazz flavors are limited editions and will be released in certain flavors at a time. Atleast that was Pepsi's plan originally.

i finally tried the caramel cream pepsi jazz today. it's not bad, but i doubt i'll buy it again. i'm not sure what it is, but it probably has something to do with the "cream" flavoring, because i tasted it in the strawberries n cream version, and... i just don't really like it. it's too sweet or something.

even so, i could see how someone could like these flavors. the after taste is minimal. they're just too sweet for me.
