The Coca-Cola Holidays 2006 packaging has already started to show up here. It is the earliest I have ever seen it in stores. Anyways the Santa is back on the packaging again as well as the polar bear.

We have the holiday packaging on 2 liters of Sprite and Coke Classic.

I'm glad Santa has returned. The Sprite bottles feature snowflakes on the background.

it does seem a little early for santa claus. i mean, halloween isn't even over yet! ha!

i'm glad to see santa back too though. santa and coca-cola just go together.

hmm. do they use a skinny version of santa on diet coke packaging? ;)

We have it here on several packages too. It seems a bit early to me too. But here's what I am thinking... Depending on the store and how much they sell, some of this holiday packaging won't be getting right in front of the customer for a few weeks yet, if it is rotated properly. And it seems better early than late. Christmas packaging looks absolutely terrible when it is still on the shelves after the New Year! I remember one time at a Walmart we had to pull all of the Christmas packaging off the shelf after the holidays were over, even though the dates were still fine.

True. I have seen plenty of people pick over holiday packaging to get to non-holiday packaging after the holidays.

Today I just saw 600 ml and 1 liter bottles of Coke with the 2006 holidays label... In the label says "El lado Coca-Cola de la Navidad" (the Coca-Cola side of christmas) and in the left appears the polar bear like running and in the right appears the white bottle from the Coke side of life campaign and a lot of christmas stuff comes out of the bottle... gifts, candy canes, christmas trees...

While Pepsi also released christmas packaging too, appears the Pepsi globe like a christmas sphere and on each side of the Pepsi globe, pics of two really really bad latin-american pop singers...

Nice 8 oz. bottle!

Does that is the holiday design for all the packaging in U.S. or is the design only for the 8 oz. bottle?

While in U.S. conmemorates the 75th anniversary of Sundblom's artwork... here in latin america Coca-Cola stopped using it since last year...

That design is just on the 8 ounce bottle.

Remember the Ball-Shaped Coca-Cola bottle (http://www.bevnet.com/bevboard/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=1;t=003945;p=1#0000 00) I posted some months ago?, well, now Coca-Cola returned the ball-shaped 400 ml bottles but now they have christmas designs on it... it says "The Coca-Cola side of Christmas" and in the back it has a Coke bottle with Santa Claus coming out of it... I'll post a pic later...

The second one (not the one pictured above) has a sign on the pallet that they are for Target. I haven't asked anyone about this though. And I can't find anything on the bottle or carrier that says anything about Target. So I don't have a lot of info, but just to confirm that there are two different bottles out there.

Yep, the ACL one is for Target. I just picked up a six pack of these yesterday at Target (along with Jones Candy Cane soda) and today I picked up the wrapped ones at my local grocery store. I think the 8 oz. carriers are better than the bottles this year. Eventhough I prefer the non-wrapped bottles, the Target one is pretty boring and the wrapped one looks just like the picture a few posts up. Too much silver! The Target carrier has a shiney metalic look to it and the wrapped carrier has Santa pics on it from the early years of Coke.

Here are the carriers.
Ignore the empty bottles that are in these and the funky angle. I have them above my kitchen cabinets.

Here is the Target one. The picture does not do justice for it:

Here is the regular one. Each side has a different picture:

The way I found out there were two Christmas bottles was seeing both for sale in a Wegmans grocery store, the wrapped on the regular shelf spot for 8oz glass and the supposed Target only on a large display across the aisle.

I couldn't take a pic of the mexican Coca-Cola holidays packaging cause I don't have a digicam right now and my scanner is inactive, but I found at flickr a pic of the 600 ml bottle with the holiday design label, what do you think?

I think you're bottle translates 2 "the Coke side of Christmas", that is Great that in Mexico Coke is not afraid 2 say CHRISTMAS.

Did U notice that our bottles only say Holiday?

I just heard that this year Wall Mart cashiers can say "Merry Christmas", last year they were not allowed 2 say it in the USA.

BTW I just checked E Bay and I could not find the round bottle, I did find a set of 6 Christmas ornaments.

The Foreman in my warehouse is going 2 get me some of the round bottles from Mexico trough his Uncle who has a tienda in Mexico City.

Thanks Ramone.

You're right, it says "The Coca-Cola side of Christmas", it's because here in Mexico almost all the population celebrates christmas... so there's no problem if companies in their ads say "merry christmas"...

I really like the Christmas packaging for Coke this year, especially the Coke Zero. I don't like Coke at all so I won't be drinking any of it, but the packaging is very very appealing to my eye. It looks so nice I just stand there at the store starring at it whenever I go LOL!!!

The only thing I dont like about Christmas packaging is that after the holidays it seems so out of date! Theres still some available in my local store.

most of the holiday packaging around here disappeared very quickly. some even before new years. i think the soda companies have learned that people don't want to buy "old" packaging so they're not producing as much of the holiday packaging.

drpep
01-28-2007, 08:35 PM
Around here soda companies should learn to rotate. White Coke Zero is on the bottom, Christmas black next and new regular black is on the top. Another store has loads of the Pepsi Xmas 12 packs buried under 12 packs of can #001 from the new design series.
