It's probably been discontinued by the Coke bottler in your area. It's pretty much just become a regional product at this point.

My guess is that C2 is being bottled in batches to cover certain territories but not as often or as in normal production amounts. Perhaps as a way to supply loyal drinkers??? I do not see how this approach could be profitable but I can not figure out anything else.LOL

Coke C2 appears in a photo of the 2005 CCE Annual Report... (page 5)

We only have the fridgepacks in the South now. My Coke guy said the 20oz and 2 liters have been discontinued in our region.

Coca-Cola C2 does appear in that one photo, but so does Vanilla Coke. We KNOW that has been discontinued!

If you hit CCBCC territory near you, you will probably find C2 in fridgepacks. I think I saw it in Cortland.

i hit C2 gold yesterday. i was at a local supermarket looking for Zero and came across FOUR 12-packs of C2. i bought 2 (it's all i could carry b/c i had other stuff).

so, now, i've got 3 12-packs in storage and one in the fridge. so i'm set for a few months. smile.gif

C2 is a guilty pleasure for me (since it still has sugar in it)... and i only drink it on the weekend, with a slice of pizza or a burger.

during the week, i drink Coke Zero... and LOTS of it (probably more than i need to).

C2 has simply replaced Coke Classic for me... and that's why i don't drink as much of it. smile.gif

http://www2.coca-cola.com/mail/goodanswer/soft_drink_nutrition.pdf

shortened summary for common drinks:

C2 --- 12 apspartame, 12 ace-k, 2 sucralose
Coke Zero 58 asp, 31 ace-k
Diet Coke 125 asp
Diet Cherry 50 asp, 34 ace-k
Sprite Zero 50 asp, 34 ace-k
Diet Mello Yello 38 asp, 86 ace-k

So assuming equal toxicity among sweeteners C2 is healthier than the others as the total dosages are lower.

FWIW, I saw the new Splenda nock off "Altern" at Walmart last weekend. News across the web has it as being of chinese origin and the maker of Splenda thinks the unkown manufacturer is violating one or more patents in making it.

I don't know when generic sucralose will become commonplace but when it does C2 and other products with splenda will become more common as the cost for the softdrink manufacturer should decrease.

C2 is still available here, I still like the graphics and they really did a good job with making it look like a "premium" brand cola.

can't figure out why they make the coke zero logo so empty looking. needs more color.

When I was in Georgia yesterday, I saw several 12-packs of Coca-Cola C2 with the new Coke graphics and even a few 2-liters at one store. I guess that means that it hasn't been discontinued (yet), but is just more limited now than it was before.

well, C2 is one area where coke has no competition from pepsi, so why give it up?

even if its only got a 0.5% market share, that's 0.5% that pepsi isn't getting. and in today's competitive market, that counts for something.

i hope coke keeps it around. smile.gif

Yeah, I was surprised to see C2 in the new style of Fridge Packs yesterday here in So Cal. But that's about all I've seen around here, no 2-Liters, no 20 oz. bottles.

Well, dont want to rub it in guys but C2 is still alive and kicking in fridge packs of 12 in almost every grocery stores in Montreal, Canada.

I guess it has now became a distributor per distributor issue...

Keep asking for it and keep bugging Coke corp. It might well return has Classic Coke did after New Coke flop.

Cheers!

Good to hear that, The King. My mom lives in SoCal and was C2's biggest-- and probably lone-- fan.

Dunno, if the US ever gets it's cane sugar tariffs / corn subsidies corrected a cane sugar version of C2 would be a hit I'm sure.
