I went to a closeout store and they were selling 12pack cans of Code Red for 99 cents. I picked up a few cases. Is Code Red fading away?

There's plenty around here.

Besides, if it wasn't selling all that well, I wouldn't see store brand knock-offs of it. Kroger has one, along with one or two other store chains that i've seen.

What was the date on it? Maybe it was outdated, or about to be. I see stuff at the dollar and closeout stores all the time that is still being produced. Once I found 20oz Dr Pepper 2/$1.

Safeway also makes a Code Red knockoff.

Did anyone come out with a Crystal Pepsi knockoff?

Ramp Red is the Code Red knockoff found at AHold supermarkets (Giant-MD, Giant-PA, Tops, Stop N Shop, Tops, Bi-Lo, Bruno's, Edwards, Super G, etc.)

Store brand knock-offs weren't that big back when Crystal Pepsi was around. Nowadays, if Vanilla Coke does any business, every store chain comes out with a vanilla cola.

The MD Code Red I saw was in a display in a Target store a couple days ago, with half the shelf Code Red and the other half LiveWire in 20oz. bottles.

I'm going to edit my post and put up a link to a Japanese web site that lists all sorts of colas and sodas from Japan, America, Australia, and Europe. There's a drink called Miracle White Cola. I can't read Japanese, but they mention Crystal Pepsi a few times, so it might be a knock-off that's still being made. http://www.colawp.com/colas/400/cola442.html

Also, today they removed Code Red from the PEpsi Vending Machine at work, now its just regular Mt Dew.

That's what they did with Pepsi Blue about three months after it came out. They took it out of the vending machines to make room for something that would sell better. It doesn't mean that it's being cancelled right away.
