Hadn't heard about these yet. I'd probably buy 9 cases whether or not I'd get one free.....

but knowing my luck, they'll not be produced within a few hundred miles from me.

Classy! Hope the glass is decently thick. I'm sure real cane sugar is a pipedream though. Anyways I hope they show up around here.

We have a similar glass bottle here in England for Pepsi, available in some pub's and deli's.

Glassbottlesrule sent me a pic of the back.
Here's the fine print (notice the Michigan bottle deposit information):

Man, I hope we get these in Connecticut...

So exactly what is Pepsi Direct anyway? I don't recall hearing about that part of the company before.

And how can I get them to "direct" 10 cases towards my front door?? :D

"Gimme, Gimme, Gimme - I NEED, I NEED, I NEED!"

I really hope these go nation wide. If they can just make it taste like AD Huesing used to do with their cane sugar 12oz bottles, I will be happy.

I think Pepsi Direct deals with retailers. If you look at the small print on the post card the offer looks to be directed to retail accounts.

Yeah, I figured it was a wholesaling part of Pepsi. I just never heard of it before, and I'm sure it wasn't around in the mid 90's when I worked for Pepsi.

It does seem maybe a little odd though, that the Pepsi Direct address is in Winston-Salem, NC - especially if this offer is geared toward Michigan accounts.

One question... they're returnable or not returnable?

Although the bottle deposit tells me that maybe it's returnable...

Pepsi Direct is a call center for restaurants etc. to call and order product through. The bottles are non-refillable but returnable, all Michigan bottles and cans carry a deposit so they do not up on the ground. They are all recycled. My wife ordered me a couple of cases of this, I will let everyone now the specifics and post pics.

The bottles are nice looking. Hopefully they'll be more reasonably priced than the 8-oz Cokes which are now going for $5 a six-pack in some stores in my area.

How can we order them without paying the huge markup from soda dealers? I can see certain soda specialty shops sucking them all up before everyone else.

In fact where can we get them at all?

11-10-2005, 04:54 PM
Do not hold your breath abouot them being cheaper. Everything I'm being told is they are going to retail at about $28.00 a case.

11-10-2005, 05:02 PM
GAG!!! I'll buy them anyway though.

11-10-2005, 05:13 PM
I think I'd just keep buying Mexican Pepsi, at that price! $28 a case works out to be $1.17 a bottle.

11-10-2005, 05:53 PM
Why mexican Pepsi?, you should buy mexican Coke buddy! the best one here!

I'll switch to Pepsi if they start selling those here in Iowa.

Anyone seen a 24 pack of 12-oz PET Pepsi bottles? I saw it as a Pepsi guy was unloading it for a small grocery store in downtown Seattle today. The 24-pack is shrink wrapped like the 6-pack 24oz Pepsi bottles. Wondered if it's new or been around in other states.

11-16-2005, 05:40 AM
24 packs, nope haven't seem that yet. I think 12 packs are the most PETs I've seen together. the bottlers around here don't use shrink wrap for their 6/24oz's either.

12 oz pet 24 pack, 16.9 oz pet 24 pk, 24 oz pet 24 pack. I have seen them all, however they are encased in wrap like a case of Aquafina, the 6 packs here use belly wrap ringers.

11-16-2005, 04:34 PM
I have seen the 24 packs of 12oz PET at various Wal-Mart locations. In a tray and shrinkwrapped.

I also remember on a previous trip to Ohio, there were 12 packs of 12oz PET that were belly banded.

24oz 6pks are banded here as well - no shrinkwrap. The only shrinkwrapped 6pks I see are 6pk 16.9oz from Davis (DPSU guys) because they tried just hi-coning them, and they were unstable. They still put the hi-cone on before shinkwrapping them, which seems odd.
