the 18 (eighteen) pack

okay, this could fit into the beer section as well.

what is the deal with the 18 pack? i know that michelob light started to use it because of the whole 18 holes thing...

with beer, AB does a lot of 18 pack cans, and 20 pack bottles. i've also seen 20 packs and 24 pack bottles on the shelves at the same time.

with pop, there's the 18pack cans which are never at a huge discount price. sometimes, the 12packs are a better deal for christs sakes.

why bother making the 18 pack for pop? i don't get it. with beer, that's 9 beers a man, not a bad ratio. but with pop, i don't understand. someone help a man out.

right now, in my beer wharehouse, we have the following odd packs:

miller :
30 pack cans of best/best light, high life/high life light.
24 pack cubes of lite, mgd/mgd light.
18 pack bottles of lite, mgd/mgd lite

labatt:
18 pack bottles blue/blue light

molson:
18 pack cans of molson ice
18 pack bottles of canadian/canadian light.

rolling rock 18 pack cans as well.

why freaking bother? does anything besides the 30packs move product more?

what does coke make? coke diet coke, lem, sprite, diet cf coke, nestea?

We had 18 pakcs of Coke, Caff. Free, and Diet Coke a few months back but they seem to have dissapreared.

I think we had Coke, CF Coke, Diet, CF Diet, Sprite, Seagram's and Nestea in 18 packs. They don't sell worth a crap, except when they put them at a good price.

We had a promotion with Wally World this summer, and we sold quite a few. Safeway (we only have one of their stores in our sales territory) also ran a sale with them about a month or so ago.. But we had to have them specially produced the morning of the first day of that 3-day sale, and then they were driven up to our warehouse from Baltimore (about an hour's drive). Otherwise, we don't bother to sell them.
