WOW...very cool!!!!
Thanks for the pix,Fusion.
IMO...Coke Zero should keep this design post holiday.
This design(black lable)gives Coke Zero a distinct brand identity.

LOL
If you recall, when Coke Zero was rolled out,I predicted that it would be
a major "destination" low carb soda pop. Face it, Coke Zero
fills a market need and is a damn good soda pop. smile.gif

Yes, HFC Pepsi is my A List drink of choice.LOL

http://img92.imageshack.us/img92/8766/zero007nc3.jpg (http://img92.imageshack.us/my.php?image=zero007nc3.jpg) it's actually probably smarter that the cans first come in the regular white packaging, because, if you're not looking for it, you might not see it.

i went looking for the black packaging last week and almost missed it!

so, until people get used to it being black, maybe they should ease into the new packaging.

Nice pictures. The last 8 pak of bottles I picked up, the bottles had white caps instead of the standard black caps. I guess they were out of the black caps?

i was at our newly built walmart supercenter, and on the coke machines, the coke zero logo is black, and while at wendys, i found both Coke zero, and vault, on fountain. the coke zero had a black label and all the pop material did too. so it looks like black is here to stay!

You are correct, Rob. The white cans were everyone until this past week here in Jax. Then..POOF...everything is in the black can. Out of nowhere.

I like it. I hope the design stays. White was too bland.

coke zero at wendy's?

cool.

just another reason to stop by. it's so hard to find a wendy's in manhattan though--there are only a few locations.

mcdonalds are on nearly every corner though. i hope mcd's gets coke zero soon too.

i think i saw it in the coolers at subway.

We've got the black cans in SC, but they're not the holiday black cans. The 12-packs come in the holiday pacage, but the cans are by no means holiday cans.

I'll try to get a pic later, but they're solid black at the bottom with a very slight gradiation to to maybe an 80-90% black up top. 'Coca Cola' is written in red with a very thin silver outline, 'zero' in white, and the ribbon is silver. There's no background design other than the gradient.

They look kinda cool.

in NYC, the cans are black and have the polar bears on them.

when i was in ohio this past weekend, the cans were the same (black w/ polar bears), but the cardboard packaging was black with silver wave... no polar bears. basically, it looked like the european packaging.

in our stores here, the coke Zero in black holiday boxes sold so fast, it is already in big can plain boxes without the holiday stuff. still black cans though. it seems that customers think the black box is a new drink or something, or just like the color better.

supposedly, coke zero is going to be re-launched in the US this year. it's doing so well overseas, that coke wants to mirror that success in the US. i guess changing the packaging to match the rest of the world was the beginning of that re-launch.

if i get time, i'll take a pic of the new design (without the polar bear).

it's very "minimalistic" and masculine.

if someone else wants to take the initiative first, feel free.

Okay so with all the chatter about coke zero i finally broke down and bought a 12pack to give it a try... what a horrible aftertaste! I had to drink a couple waters to wash the taste out with.. now I know some of you love it deeply but wow, I thought it was okay going down but shortly after I wanted to lick a towel and get it out. (for the record I didn't fare well with splenda flavored soda's either, very few diets seem to be done well)

Try drinking it over ice and allow it a few seconds to breath. Most of us have had that initial reaction. Over ice Coke Zero is much better and gets better. smile.gif

the first black coke zero cans were solid black, but, now... it's more like a series of tiny black dots... on a silver can. i'm not sure if they're doing that to save money, or what. but i'm pretty sure pepsi one cans are painted the same way.

i'm also convinced that diet coke actually taste good to millions of people... and coke zero... not so good. but for those who like coke zero... diet coke tastes bad.

we just have to accept that not one soda is going to please everyone.

Often times a bottler will have old stock of labels that they use up after a promotion is over (they have to run the promo labels in a certain time frame due to marketing calenders from the soda companies).

Our Coke Zero 2L switched back to white labels for one run after the holiday labels were used up. Now they are plain black/grey.

I rarely drink regular soda these days, but one thing I have noticed when I do is that HFCS has an aftertaste too!

Diet sodas do tend to make me quite thirsty though. It's counterproductive and I end up drinking a bunch of water a short time later.

Mr Zabe
01-02-2007, 02:17 PM
I usually reach for a cold bottle of water soon after I drink a soda pop (HFCS). The cold spring water is very refreshing and it mellows out the sodp pop's residual after taste. IMO,it's an enjoyable one two combination.
