(I'm new to this board)

anyone had the chance to sample this new enrgy drink yet?? We got some samples in a couple of weeks ago, and i think it's great stuff. Coca-Cola energy drink line-up is pretty solid, but it's gonna be even better when this stuff comes out next year.

Hi DMC
Welcome to this fine board of soda pop lovers.
Not to be funny or goofy I have a great respect for all soda pop route men/women. I have said on this board before that route men are soda pop G-ds in my view of thinking. smile.gif

Welcome again,
Zabe

I tried a sugarfree one today. Tasted pretty good to me! I agree - it's a great addition to the lineup.

Have you tried Von Dutch yet?

Welcome again,
Zabe i wish we got paid like it. i get paid well, but for the amount of work route men do and some of the crap we got to deal with, we should get paid more. but yeah, anyways.

I'm on a route too and I have to agree. Seems like everything is always our fault, doesn't it?

Does anyone else think that Von Dutch is a horribly formulated Red Bull/Rockstar wannabe?

I'm kinda partial to Von Dutch, myself. I do agree - it tastes a lot like Red Bull.

DMC,

Having started in the business in 1976 as a truck loader, relief driver, bulk driver, conventional driver, merchandiser, pre-sales rep, sr. acct mgr and on to corporate management, I can tell you that the "ground pounders" are indeed the foundation of the company. Keep your chin up and get that degree! This is a great business to be in.

Here in Mex., Coca-Cola haven't entered yet to the energy drinks market, they were going to launch an energy drink called BEAT in 2000, but they didn't launched it and instead of it they launched a citrus soda called BEAT.

we haven't started it, though i think i've heard of it. is this new truck system where they have each stop loaded on a "cart" already prepared for you to deliver??

cokedriverkzoo
12-04-2005, 07:17 PM
yeah all the trailers are like mini bulk trailers about 35 feet long or so...every stop is pre-built for you and so you dont have to downstack anymore but man some stops are gonna be tough to get a 35 ft trailer into.

We had the trucks, but we never got the carts. Then the trucks were sent somewhere else.

yeah we get trucks in our yard all the time but dont have any carts...there is only one plant in michigan doing this right now and its in bay city..its rumored that our plant is the next to go to this but they wont tell us when..what do you guys think of this system?

How at the store level are the orders placed?
Does the store manager scan a tag and enter in quantities. Then down load the order to an internet order bank? Or, does a company person visit the store and place the order for next delivery?

This system sound efficient yet not reliable for special needs of the stores.

A account manager(sales rep) vists the store 48 hours before delivery and then it goes out 2 days later

Where is Full Throttle being produced?

fusion
12-07-2005, 05:46 PM
These are the only two production facilties that are producing FT, as far as I know.

CCBCC, Charlotte NC (SY)
Southwest Canners, Portales NM (PT)

Do they produce it at the same place they produce Rockstar? Where do they produce that?

fusion
12-07-2005, 07:49 PM
No, Rockstar production is handled by Rockstar themselves. Well, they oversee the production.

Most of the Rockstar we get is produced by Southeast Atlantic Beverages (SeaBev) in Jacksonville FL.

Is Full Throttle made from concentrate?

DMC

i'm use to driving 35 ft. sidebay trailers. well, i'm assuming they're 35 ft., mine is a 16 side bay trailer, 8 on each side.

it's a good drink, but try other ones as well. there are drinks available with higher quality ingredients. i wont shamelessly plug myself, but just shop around for quality....

and today is a new day, so i will NOT post my website.

Anyone had Full Throttle fury yet?
How does it differ from the original?

fusion
12-13-2005, 11:19 PM
It's an orange flavor, versus a lemon flavor for the original.

Southwest Canners, Portales NM (PT) Funny you should mention Southwest Canners in Portales. I'm about to graduate from Eastern New Mexico University (also in Portales, not much else here at all unless you count the peanut processing plant), and I was a temporary worker at Southwest Canners for a short time this past summer. I was actually part of a team that packed 4-packs of Full Throttle. Not too bad of a job, except for the fact that because of some sort of miscommunication, the plant became overstocked with product and we were eventually "laid off" as it were. I will say that one of the perks of the job was that I could get (slightly dented-up) cans of Full Throttle for free when I worked there. Heck of a lot better than paying $1.50-$2 a can at the stores. Full Throttle was actually the second energy drink I'd ever tried, the first being Red Bull. As you can probably guess, I enjoyed the Full Throttle a lot better. As a matter of fact, I've still got a can of Sugar-Free Full Throttle in my fridge. Both versions I've had are pretty tasty, but for some weird reason, the sugar free version will give me a buzz like you wouldn't believe! Haven't tried Full Throttle Fury yet, and I'm moving out of P-Ville after I get my diploma on Saturday, so I don't see myself getting a free can of the stuff. However, I might just shell out a couple bucks for a can, just to try it and see how I like it as opposed to the original version. The Doomite Is Out!

I tried a full throttle out of curiosity and couldnt finish it...it tasted so bad.

I dont know whats in it, but...yuck!

Just my opinion of course, others obviously like it from reading the posts on this thread.
