View Full Version : Coke With Lime is Here!
02-13-2005, 09:16 PM
I just picked up a Coca-Cola w/ Lime here at Purdue University this evening. Overall I would say it tastes really good. Seems to use the same lime from the diet version, but regular Coca-Cola makes it taste much better.

I tried some too over the weekend, I have to say I like it. However I noticed one small detail on the packaging, the green trim on the top and bottom of the label is red. Coke's website image shows it green. Wonder if that was a last minute decision.

Here's a photo comparison of the promo image vs. the store image on the packaging:
Personally, I didn't care for this that much. The Lime wasn't very strong. It was way too weak for my tastes. Not that it matters to you guys, but I reviewed it on my site (http://forums.tannerworld.com/showthread.php?t=5196) and included another packaging photo.
Kudos to XLS_04 for noticing the packaging change.

Sheetz in Frederick Maryland has it. I got a bottle for lunch. I think it is very good. It has a smooth mild taste to it. The above poster is correct though. The Lime flavor is not real strong. But I like it.

I would guess it has been rolled out Nationally by now. I like it but would have prefered the taste more tart, rather than smooth. Anyone spot anything different than 20oz.? The nutrition facts now includes a column "This Package". Has there been a change in the labeling law? Someone else has also pointed out that the ingrediant Sucrose has been removed.

The labeling is a voluntary change that they are going to apply to all 20oz packages.
From what we were told at our meeting last month, it wasn't even due out until March. No mention of an accelerated 20oz introduction. I do know that 2 liters and fridgepacks are planned.
I've been checking at a few stores, and it wasn't even authorized in their system yet.. as of Sunday.

Well, no sign of it over here at Utah, but that's no big surprise :0 Even though I'm not a big fan of Lime or Coca-Cola, I always like to try new sodas. I wonder when it will be over here? Oh well.

Coke with Lime was released in south Texas but so far has only shown up in 20oz bottles. Pretty good stuff with very subtle lime flavoring.

It was terrible. Tasted a little like Pepsi Holiday spice and almost nothing like lime

Coca-Cola with Lime is absolutely brilliant! I picked up a 20 today and downed it in under 10 minutes! I do like the that has the "Regular Serving" v. "This Package"...cool tricks.
All in all, a hot new drink

It has showed up here in 6-pack cans from (PR) Portland, IN.

Not bad, I think it would be good mixed with Gin.

Anything is "good mixed with Gin". :D

i love gin

It's here in Colorado. Picked one up at the Wal-Mart in Broomfield.
It a subtle taste of lime, and I think it could use just a hint more.
Over all it is a wonderful drink, but it doesn't pack the flavor punch like vanilla coke does.

I love scotch,..scotch..scotch..scotch. from the movie Anchorman.

I traveled to Fairfield, OH today and noticed a Coke route guy unload a pallet of Fridgepaks of Coke w/Lime. The fridgepaks were coded (CN) Cincinnati.

Going next weekend. Gotta get my supply of Ale8one. Not to mention Barq's red creme, Cheerwine, Blenheim's Sundrop and all the other good stuff. I dump way too much money in that place. They should name an aisle after me.

Where can you get Barq's red creme in the Detroit area?

It's not bad, I couldn't drink it regularly.

I haven't tried coke with lime yet. I plan on trying it this week. "Barq's Floatz" looks really interesting on the "Beverage Reviews" section. The selection of available cream soda throughout the US is interesting.

You have to go down to Cinncinanti or Indiana to get Barq's Red Creme. Or Big Red can be found in some places in the Metro area and everywhere in Toledo.

Coke with Lime is decent. I will stick to regular coke however in the future.
I always like to make sure I check the "expiration date" on Coke bottles. I can easily tell the difference when I drink a bottle of coke that expires in 3 months, to a bottle of coke that expires in 45 days.
I wish Coke would come out with a "highly carbonated" cola.
My 24oz plastic bottle always seems to go flat within an hour after opening it, even though the cap is on. I guess that means I will have to drink the bottle in 30 minutes. LOL

They still don't have the 24oz bottles here yet. They have recently added the 12oz plastic bottles, I think they are in 8 packs. Only time will tell how good they will sell here. I'd prefer bigger 24oz bottles though.

The restaurant I work for just got 20 oz. of Coke with Lime, and I've seen them at the groceries too. All the bottles so far have had the red border rather than the green. I like the stuff and prefer it over regular Coca-Cola. You can actually taste the lime, more so than you could taste the lemon in Pepsi Twist.

Coke with lime is here in Mexico too, and it's called Coca-Cola Citra, to know more, look at my post "Coke with lime is here... in Mexico"
