Coke's New Coffee Soda Pop (http://today.reuters.com/news/newsarticle.aspx?type=businessNews&storyid=2005-12-07T165821Z_01_BAU666894_RTRUKOC_0_US-FOOD-COKEBLAK.xml&rpc=23)

Here is a news story about Coke's coffee infused soda pop. I have an open mind but the article said that Coke C2 soda pop is used.

My gut tell me that in the States, this soda pop will flop big time. This soda pop probably will not have the caffeine buzz that coffee drinkers seek. Just IMO. smile.gif

Interesting note... Thanks Mr.Z!

The note says that will be launched in some countries, I hope Mexico to be one of them

I too am also bothered by its half-calorie status.

Although, it mentions that it will be half-calorie with half the sugar, but this may not mean that it uses artificial sweetener to fill the gap. It may just be a slightly less sweet cola.

Lets hope so. I like C2, but I don't think it's a good idea to launch a new product like this without a traditional sweetener.

I remember a few years back this Zydecola - from New Orleans. It was a great tasting soda. Coffee and cola. It flopped. People couldn't get used to the idea of coffee and cola.

I thought it was great.

Does anyone remember this?

Interesting bottle they are going to use. I am looking forward to trying it. I wonder if it will make it in the US market. Starbucks seems to have the coffee drink market wrapped up for now.
