I'm a huge ramune fan, I was wondering if anyone else on this board felt the same way.

Thanks,

It's an okay drink, but I never thought it was too special. The one cool thing about it is the old fashioned bottle, with the glass marble stopper.

There used to be a melon flavored drink in an aluminum bottle that 7-11 stores around here used to sell that was pretty good. But I haven't seen it in a long time. It had an interesting cantaloupe flavor to it.

Was that a Japanese drink?

You can buy it in Michigan at Meijer superstores. Good stuff. The same company also make a Strawberry that is pretty good.

You can also find it in the gourmet foods section at amazon.com.

I had it at the Seven Eleven 2 Junes ago. Oh yeah!
I tried that too at the Japanese market.
It was a little too sweet for my palate.

But the aluminum bottle rules.

Does any U.S. can manufacturer produce a bottle like that?

But going back to ramune, it's a very "clean" tasting soda with minimal after taste. I would consider picking it up but as tasty as it is for me, the glass/marble bottle only holds 6.6oz of liquid.

I think Capri Sun makes aluminum bottles like that.

That's the melon soda I was talking about. It was pretty good. There's still an anime store across town that still sells it (for a premium). I go there sometimes for Pocky candy. smile.gif

Does anyone have any information where I can find a manufacturer that makes that type of packaging?
Thanks.

What is that? Is it an empty bottle or is there a pop or other liquid in it. The Ebay description was not clear.

Anita, that link shows the "American" version of ramune, Shirakiku brand is the authentic japanese version of ramune.

I found a manufacturer for that bottle btw.

Mr. Zabe, if you are referring to that amazon link, it's a glass bottle that is sealed with a marble.
I can try to explain but you just have to experience it for yourself.

I still think it's the best soda flavor because when you first drop the marble, there's a hint of bubblegum and when drinking it, it's a very less syrupy and sticky version of sprite/7up.

Thanks, it sounds like the marble dropping is like a soda pop side show. I would love to see a bottle up close and personal.

Yes, the marble in the bottle one is the best. You can get that on the soda king. Also in the WEst at BevMo stores... it's a lot of fun especially at parties. You can also get the aluminum bottle stuff; pretty interesting but I'm not an aluminum guy... sorry! I'm fighting with Ramune every day to put that in the glass with the marble

If anyone in Michigan is trying to find the melon soda or the ones with the marble in them they can be found at Hiller's. I tried one of the melon ones and it was ok, tomorrow I am going to try the marble one.
