I decided while reading "The Other Guy Blink, How Pepsi won the Cola Wars." I decided to enjoy or try some coke products I brought back from consolidated. I decided to use Bevnets rating system...

Here are the 5 flavours I tasted...

Grape: I took one sip, Gagged and gave myself a second then decided to give it another chance. It was bloody worse the second time. It tasted like bad medicine. URGH is the word that describes it best. http://www.bevnet.com/images/stars/bevnet-0.5.gif

Pineapple:
Better, But still syrupy and too artificial. Its just hard to make a good pineapple beverage, Good attempt though.

Berry:
This was even better but still lacking. See Bevnet Review...

Peach:
This is the best so far, I can actually drink this without cringing. There is room for improvement though.

Strawberry:
This was just as good, A little more artificial then the peach but still good.

What, no Apple Fanta?

I find that both Pineapple and Strawberry are huge improvements over the Minute Maid versions. The grape is very mediciney, the orange is really artifical tasting.

Black Cherry isn't too bad. Tastes like a milder version of the former Minute Maid Black Cherry.

I don't expect Fanta to be the greatest thing since sliced bread. It's designed to be a lower cost soda, to compete with the private labels.

Food Lion has 99 cent Fanta 2 liters and 2.99 Fanta 12 packs every day around here. If the rest of the Coke products go on sale at a lower price, the Fanta will drop in price as well. Most other places sell the 2 liters at $1 or less.

Fanta is also really pushed in vending machines, instead of MM Orange/Grape.

Food Lion here I found a pallet of Fridge Packs for $2.79...same price as the rest of the Coke. Not a sole seemed to care the Fanta was there, the stack of Coke, Vanilla Coke, Sprite, Diet Coke, CF Diet, Sprite Remix though seemed to sell. First time I've ever seen Fanta in Cumberland. Sell by dates were Jan1904, behind other Coke products. Produced by MAC in Hamburg.

I've never tasted them, but I've never had the desire to. I figure CCE and Central know what they're doing when they both had Fanta temporarily, and then ditched it for MM. They ditched Fanta because MM tastes better and therefore will sell better. Fanta is in NO vending machines my way, although finding MM Valencia is quite easy. Same goes for CCE Eastern Great Lakes. Consolidated seems to be pushing toward Minute Maid more and away from Fanta, but they're the only company in this region who even cares enough about Fanta to provide some variety. I'd like to try Pineapple and Peach, simply because nothing like that is offered around here.

What, those commercials with the Spice Girl wannabees singing about Fanta hasn't whipped people into a Fanta buying frenzy? I'm shocked!

I've never seen these commercials at all here, but then again I probably live in the area where Fanta is produced the least.

There's a little Japanese food store on St. Mark's Place that sells all sorts of imported drinks, among them Fanta TROPICAL FRUITS! Unfortunately, they were out of it the last time I was there.

Not only do they show those stupid Fanta commercials here, a lot, I had to listen to some little kid at work yesterday who kept singing "Wanna, wanna, want a Fanta?" over and over. Just strengthens my belief that people really need to beat their children more.

I would love to try the Fanta Berry & Peach. The Fanta Grape is not that good, but like the Pineapple, there is not a lot of competition, and can be difficult to do.

Fanta Orange was reformulated to use coconut oil, and it made it taste worse IMHO. I still have yet to try the Euro Fanta Orange. The Mexican Fanta Orange is the old US Fanta Orange.

And I'm still looking for a source for Fanta Red Cream. It's been gone for 10 years out west.

A friend of my told me that Fanta should go make ice-creams, and call them....

Fanta-stick......isn't that fantastic! gheghe

If someone needs a Fanta bev from Europe, please contact me, I will trade with drinks from USA.

Denis

The European Fanta flavors are to die for. Especially Lime.

The Mexican markets here now carry 12OZ. glass Fanta Peach & Strawberry. The peach is excellant, the strawberry is much better than the US strawberry.

Hey Boris, where did you find the Berry? That's in Virginia? I thought only CCE Chicago ran that?

The code on the Berry is EH, which is United Coca-Cola. I think it's their Birmingham, AL facility.

Berry was produced in a number of areas. I bought it in northern NJ last year.
