Since several of you asked about seeing some old labels, containers, etc., I dug out what I could this weekend and snapped a few pictures.

I took a couple hundred pics but I'm tired of loading.. but this should keep you busy for a while. Sorry, some came out dark so I change cameras. Enjoy!

For lack of a better way to say it; scrolling down and looking at your pictures reminded me of when I found my Dad's Play Boy collection when I was a kid. You are the man,the main main of soda pop collecting.

Wow, that 1 gallon Coke must be rare. That green & red Sprite letters on white label must also be pretty old.

Now, do you have anything from Patio?

And Fanta?

I like the font on "It's The Crowd Pleaser" on those glass coke bottles.

Is that your wife in the first picture? She doesn't look too happy having all those soda bottles in the house <eg>

I have one of those gallon jugs (mine is glass, though), but unfortunatly it doesn't have a label.

It's really neat to see the graphic changes over time. I really like the 10-2-4 Dr Pepper graphics.

Wow! Holy <bleep>!! That's not "a few more pics" - that's a gallery. And that's more than a collection - is more like a soda museum. Amazing - did you start stashing these back when they were new or have you been acquiring them in the years since from other collectors?

I've got a couple of cases of various 16 ouncers of different sodas, and a lot of different Pepsi bottles, but that ain't nothing like what you have! Makes my humble little stack seem like nothing. (but man, storing all of that must be a pain!)

I'll put up one picture of my best Pepsi bottles -
it's about the only selection I have that can compare with this!!

I've got a couple of Canadian 1.5 liter returnable bottles in the back of my pic here, similar to some of those 48+ ounce ones shown above (I LOVE that 48 ounce "swirl" Pepsi bottle!) I was told those were known as "bullets" up among the merchandisers in Canada, for their shape and potential for breakage. Was that a term used elsewhere I wonder.

WOW THATS A REAL NICE COLLECTION! I never knew what RC 100 looked like, for some reason I thought it would have been gold.

Andy, that big Pepsi bottle on the far left is that real? how many ounces is that?

it's nice to see how these beverages have changed over the years.

Andy, that big Pepsi bottle on the far left is that real? how many ounces is that? lol, it's real but it's fake. Its a display-bottle that Pepsi came out with when they switched everything to the swirl bottle in 1958. I don't know the history of my bottle, I'm thinking it might some sort of a test blowing, because the color is a little too blue. It never got a painted-on label, the labels on it I drew up and printed out years ago on the computer, they are just taped on. The bottle cap is the same pepsi one that is found on "complete" display bottles.

Thanks again for the kind words and compliments. I'm loading a few more pics
and answering some questions.

- Hacksaw, yes, I have all the regular Patio cans and bottles.
The 2nd pic below shows one of the Patio cans. I have many
Fanta cans and bottles. The 1st pic below shows a few of the bottles
and a can. All others are packed up right now.

- DietCokeEnthusiast, yes the drinking water is very unusual. NOt sure if
you can read the small print, but it was put out by ROyal Crown COla!

- Fusion, yep, that's my fiancee. She tolerates my obsessive habit!

- Android, No, haven't been acquiring since they were ALL new. I've been collecting
20 yrs now, started when I was 12. Yes, storing is a pain. I currently have all
these stored at three houses and 2 garages! Again, this is only a small fraction
of what exists. Thousands more are boxed up...

The Coca-Cola Ultra is the original C2. Ultra is what they were planning on calling it, but changed to C2 somewhere down the line.

I am building a museum one day, a private one on my property. Would never risk displaying anything away from home. However, I'd welcome family and friends. I got a nice chunk of pennies saved for the building, just trying to get some additional land behind me to build on.

Zabe, the middle gatorade bottle is one of the early ones, copyrighted 1969. Yea, I remember when fruit punch came in the mid-80s, in the 16oz.? glass bottles. I remember drinking that all summer when school was out!

[ http://photos16.flickr.com/22313420_5df6f5474a.jpg That's my favorite Diet Coke label of all time.

Gatorade in glass was around until the late 1990's it seemed. I always thought it was odd to bring a glass bottle with you while exercising/doing sports. I mean I know in the 70's that's all they had, but you'd think by the late 80's they would have gone on to plastic.

kewl collection.

i noticed how coca-cola classic has, over time, removed the "original formula" label, and how the "classic" has gotten smaller. i wonder if they're going to drop the "classic" eventually.

after all, "new" coke became "coke 2," so that may leave the name "coca-cola" open for the original formula.

There are several other large can collections but they don't collect bottles and other stuff. Do you have the version of the Roy Rogers with Dale Evans on it?

I don't know anything about it, but I have to assume that Disney gave the rights to show Donald's face.

For the longest time here in the US, there was a Donald Duck brand orange juice, and I'm very sure that Disney itself did not distribute it.

I suppose that another example is the Mickey Mouse Adventure drinks that were in Mexico, Ramon.

ramonazo
06-30-2005, 11:19 AM
True, and this product has been discontinued too, first the brand was named "Mickey Aventuras" and featured Mickey, Donald and Goofy in the packaging, (the difference between Mickey Av. and Pascual Boing is that Mickey Av. have the copyright of Disney), this line consisted in flavored milks and juice drinks, but the product wasn't successful and renamed it "Disney Adventures" and now featured another characters of Disney like Timon and Pumbaa, but this didn't worked and the product was discontinued, it doesn't appear in the brands section in www.coca-colamexico.com.mx (http://www.coca-colamexico.com.mx)

I was thinking the exact thing thing. I remember those little 6oz cans with the thin foil pull tops.

In most of the hotels we stayed in Florida, these cans of Donald Duck orange and grapefruit juices were in vending machines. I being a soda pop/fluid addict use to drink at least 3 cans a few times a day.

I don't know who distributes it, but I think Donald Duck is still in some stores. I think Farm Fresh and Ukrops still sells it where I live.

My mom bought it for me once growing up and I thought it tasted too watered down.

Funny but I remember that the OJ and Grapefruit juices were hit or miss. Most times they had a real tangy bite to them. Granted this was way before I became a freshness/born date freak. LOL

I bet the tin cans ( these cans were not aluminum) had something to with the taste.
