I heard that it was suppose to be released for good in 2005. It said start looking for it in April. I have not seen it yet. Does anyone know when/if it is suppose to come out? It is my favorite drink. Thanks, Josh

I see it in 20oz all the time at any store that carries em. But TODAY I found FRESH 12 packs at a local Eckerd drug store! I was so excited, and even though I can't drink caffiene anymore, I bought a pack :)

I think you mean the Release Of Mountain Dew Electrocution?????
On the second page of this board there is a thread: The Release Of Mountain Dew Electrocution
I thought that Live wire was slowly going to be phased out?

I live in the Atlanta area, and yes I know we are headquarters of coke, but the past 2 summers we had Livewire here.

It's around here in CT if you look around (although I haven't taken a close look at the date stamps to see if it's old stock). The Livewire web site insists it's permanently available.

It was on tap in Reno.

It's definately permanent here in NJ.

Well, I have looked numerous times around all the major grocery stores around here, Kroger, Ingles, Publix, Walmart, but no one has it. Errr, I guess I should just give up.

I'm curious as to how popular this drink REALLY is.
I suppose it must be doing very well to go permanent.
But I've seen no advertisement for it, and before today, I've never found any Livewire fans.

I give a thumbs up to it because it's an orange flavored caffeinated soda (there's not too many of those, just LW, Sunkist, and Jolt Orange Blast). My problem with it is it's way too Dew-y and not orange-y enough for me.
In general I only see it around here in 20 oz PET in convenience stores. I don't think I ever see it in supermarkets.
06-30-2005, 09:58 AM
Really? I find that it's not Dew-y enough.
I've tried it several times and I just can't get to liking it.
It's probably because I expect a flavored Mt. Dew, ala Code Red(which is brilliant), but instead I get something way close to orange soda, and it disappoints me.

I'm not much of a Mt. Dew fan at all, which is why it doesn't do it for me. I'd prefer it if it leaned towards orange soda, but there's something about the flavor that's off-putting.

If I were to call the bottler of the cans I just found, would they be able to tell me where I can purchase Livewire?

I saw a 12 pack at the Safeway here in Boulder.

Livewire has never went away in Pepsi Americas territory around Indianapolis. It only said limited edition when it first came out.

The Border, is it in 12-packs? I may have to pick some up next time I'm down there...

I'm on the "not Dew-y" enough end of the spectrum. I just think that an orange-flavored Mountain Dew is redundant because orange is the most prominent flavor in regular MD. So basically, LiveWire tastes too much like a regular orange soda for my liking.

I love livewire but here in Kentucky I havent been able to find it in 2-liters. All I see anymore are 12-packs and 20 oz. Did they quit making them in 2-liters or what?

I found some fresh 2 liters once in this like lil pizza shop. Haven't seen them since, that was a shock.

Livewire Is Amazing! Never cared to much for Code Red.

We have had it all through last summer in Central Ohio/Southern OH as well as Lexington, KY. It does well here. We only make it in 20oz and 12pk 12oz cans.
