View Full Version : Fruity Summer Questions

Just a couple things that have been on my mind;

Is there a watermelon soda, or non-carbonated drink (aside from juice)? I've never seen one, but I would think that it would be a good flavor.

Also, when I was younger there was "Sunkist Sparkling Lemonade". My cousin drank a can and vomited, but I have to say I loved it. Does anybody know of another carbonated lemon-flavored?

Thanks for your input.

I think Target might have a Watermelon soda in their Summerville line currently, but other than that, there's nothing from the big 3.

As for Sunkist Sparkling Lemonade, I believe it's still made, but very rarely and by very few bottlers. If there's a diet version (which I know for sure), I'm sure someone still sells a regular version as well.

Simon Nevon,
Sunkist Lemonade soda is still available in the Topeka/Lawrence area of Kansas. I have a brand new 12 pack of it.

I remember seeing in a Wal-Mart 12-packs of carbonated Lemonade in 8 oz. bottles. They were labeled as some kind of kid drink.

I've really got to pop over to Boodoo's place of business and pick up another case of Cool Mountain Watermelon sometime soon. It's just getting around to it, when I have the cash to spare, that seems to be the problem. And I have godlike powers of procrastination. But i'll do it soon, really. Really, I will.

Fanta does have a Watermelon Soda, but it's probably not to be found in North America.

I think Jones has a Melon soda.

Hey guys....
You all forgot about Mistic. Mistic makes an awesome Watermelon Kiwi flavor. You don't really taste the kiwi in it. It's one of Mistic's original flavors from the early '90s.

Vomiting is not the desired outcome when drinking a beverage.

Jones Melon takes exactly like drinking canteloupe juice. Not disgusting, but not something I want to drink a whole bottle of.

I do recall picking up a 12 pack of Sunkist Lemonade from Metro KC(MO side) about 3 or 4 years ago.
It's an ok drink, but certainly not a tart drink I had hoped for.
I guess I would love to find a euro-fanta/italian soda like you find at Whole Foods in a 12oz can!

If you want a bizarre taste treat the next time you eat a piece of watermelon, try sprinkling a little bit of sea salt on it. It really makes the flavor pop and the juxtaposition of sweet and salty is awesome.
