View Full Version : The elusive apple soda

12-30-2005, 02:08 PM
Around the year 2000 or shortly before, there was an apple drink found in many convenience stores and gas stations. I believe it was made by either pepsi or coca cola, but it was a mighty fine product. Apple soda is usually nasty, but this was more like carbonated apple juice. I can remember the green label on it and everything, but for the life of us my friend and I can't remember the name. We've been searching for it for years. Anyone have any clues?

Call me a freak but I have a vague recollection that Pepsi had a carbonated apple soda pop that was either a limited run or test market. I do not believe it was officially rolled out.

All I want is a sweet apple juice that has a good strong carbonation kick. Very simple you would think. LOL

Well there is now Jolly Rancher Soda, green apple

Uh, are you talking about Frawg? It came in the soda fountain, and in Slurpee form. If so, I believe it came out after 2000. Somebody back me up?

I want this apple soda pop to look and have the bubbles of say Anstai Splamatai? Even if the soda pop has 10% apple juice I would still most likely go head over heals for it. LOL

No, it wasn't any of those. I know they sold it in the east coast and west coast. I will never figure out what it was. It was great though.

Maybe Fusion is right, maybe it's Coke's Manzana Mia the one you're talking about...

It was on sale in California

There are only 2 apple sodas I have tried...Jones Green apple, and Apple Beer. Apple beer is by far my favorite one.

There's Fanta Apple from Coke, and Manzania Sol from Pepsi bottled for the Dallas market.

We also have Manzanita Sol here in the NYC area.

Anyone remember Aspen apple soda in the early 1980's? Also Jones has a green apple soda in glass bottles that's still sold here in CA.

(It was a clear soda, looked like 7up)

Also, Apple Slice soda (also by Pepsi)

Rameo, your mountain dew drink that you posted above (Can't seem to quote, sorry) is most likely not japanese.

I know a bit of japanese and am studying japanese writing. It may be korean. If I can see the can better (I didnt' find it in those links) I could tell you for sure.

If you see this symbol on it though, it is the japanese kanji for yen, it is definitely japanese:

We are going to start distibuting Manzanita Sol here in okc in the next month or so. Most flavored sodas around here do not fair well.

shankly, the soda you're thinking of is called Apple Slice. It was made by Pepsi, but they discontinued it and replaced it with the Tropicana Twisters line (which may or may not have been discontinued as well, eventually). Info about Apple Slice is pretty much nonexistant at this point, and I only know about it because a friend of mine used to drink it religiously. smile.gif

Talking about Manzanita Sol... recently Pepsi discontinued Manzanita Sol Green Apple in my area... one of the few good Pepsi sodas in Mexico... too bad...

I had the most delicious apple soda in Japan. It was called AoRingo (Blue Apple, literally, but aoi [blue] also means "green as in nature green", so it meant green apple).

It was sweet, crisp, and perfectly carbonated. I haven't seen it since 2001.

I wish these fanta flavors would go national. Fanta Apple and Fanta Citrus and the blue fanta whatever it was are drinks I always wanted to try but never have because they dont sell them anywhere close to where I live!!!!!!!!!!

Jones makes a green apple. I had it out of the soda fountain at Target.

We have Manzanita Sol bottled by Pepsi Americas in cans and 2L bottles in Indianapolis. It is produced in Munster, IN.
