View Full Version : What sodas are available in Vegas?

01-03-2006, 03:27 PM
Guys!, I'm going to Vegas next week, and one of my objectives is to drink a lot of soda there and bring some sodas to home, here's a list of the sodas I will buy there:

My "I will definetely buy it" list:
-Coca-Cola Classic
-Mt. Dew Code Red.
-Fanta Pineapple

My "I will buy it... but I hope to find it" list:
-Coca-Cola Zero
-Coca-Cola Black Cherry Vanilla
-Diet Coke with Splenda
-Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper
-Vanilla Coke
-Pepsi Vanilla
-Sprite Remix Aruba Jam

My "I surely won't find it, but I'll keep the faith" list:
-Berry & Cream Dr. Pepper

Definetely Coke will be available there but, does somebody know if these sodas are available in Vegas, what sodas do you recommend that aren't on my list?

Try Cactus Cooler (Orange and Pinapple Soda). They are in most stores there (Vons, Smiths, etc.)

It is a lovely drink.

Sounds good!

Ramon, make sure you get to visit the World of Coca Cola store on the Las Vegas strip. I used to work at the store when it first opened in 1997. they used to have the museum on the 3rd and 4th floors but they closed it. The 2nd floor has a soda fountain where some different flavors can be tried. they also sell 20 oz bottles of sodas Coke has locally. Being a big fan of Coke, I am sure you will enjoy!

Don't know where you're staying in Vegas but the former Circus Circus properties, now called Mandalay Bay properties (from south to north, Mandalay Bay, Luxor, Excalibur, Monte Carlo, Circus Circus) all have exclusive deals with...pepsi and you can't find coke products anyplace (even the Mickey D's I think) on their properties.

Thanks Tallflip!, in fact, The world of Coca-Cola store (now called Everything Coca-Cola) will be the first place I'm going to visit, I'm going to behave like a kid in Disneyland in that store! LOL

MATHA531, BTW me and my family we're going to stay at Circus Circus, so... there's only Pepsi in the hotel?, yikes! :( , anyway, I hope there's Code Red or Pepsi Vanilla in the vending machines...

If they serve Pepsi in the Casino, I would bet anything that they only have Pepsi products in the vending machines. It's a matter of Pepsi having a contract to provide all vending and gun soft drinks.

01-03-2006, 08:03 PM
Afraid if you're in Circus Circus, there's only pepsi whether it be in the casino (at least it's free if you're playing), the vending machines, the restaurants and wherever.

When I satayed at Excalibur two years ago, it got so bad I had to walk to the AM/PM store adjacent to Excalibur to get coke products.

01-03-2006, 08:10 PM
Mmm... I think I will go to the AM PM store too... LOL :D

unfortunately, Las Vegas is a big Pepsi town, at least when I lived there it was. Ramon, if you want to try different sodas, check any 7-eleven stores. The ones in Vegas seem to have oddball stuff once in awhile. You may be able to find thse Jolly Rancher sodas in Watermelon, Green Apple and I think I've seen Grape too. There is a 7-11 around every corner in Vegas, not too sure of any around Circus-Circus though. Most of the Coca-Cola stuff in Vegas comes from either LA or Phoenix. When I worked out there they were talking about building a production facility but I don't think its happening. Have fun out there!

You will have a great time in LV.

Its easy to walk or take a taxi, which are well-run, clean, and very low priced from one casino to another. While some people are looking for comps and think they have to gamble at their own hotel, if that is not your thing, just go somewhere else. Many casinos have exclusive deals with Coke. The drinks are free if you are playing anything at all. The only exception being in some of the sports books, including those owned by Casesars. The shopping arcades at places like Caesars or the Belagio are not to be missed. I like to hop from casino to casino just to see the different themes and such. No harm in that.

The World of Coca-Cola is a must for you.

As to the brands you list, I do not think you will have any problems finding any of those on your list, except for Diet Coke w/ Splenda and Berry & Cream Dr Pepper. Coca-Cola Zero is everywhere.

LV is a "big Pepsi town". More than most places, but that does not mean that Coke is not available. Many casinos are Coke places, and most stores carry both. If you have the time, have a taxi take you to a Wal-Mart or a local grocery story of the strip (Albertson's and I think Ralph's are local) and hit their sections.

Thanks tallflip, thanks SamC!

My family and me were planning to visit the casinos of the hotels, somebody told me that it's amazing!...

Good to know that Coke zero is everywhere!, but that's a pity that DC Splenda doesn't have great availability, anyway, hope to find one...

Thanks for the advice to go to Wal-Mart or a local grocery store!, no doubt about it, we're surely go to Wal-Mart, my mom says: "we will visit WM!!"

The american Wal-Mart is better than the mexican one...

If you are flying in you need to rent a car. If you try to take a cab everywhere you will go broke and if you try to walk everywhere you WILL get damn tired. The strip is like 4 miles end to end that coupled with the sun hitting the concrete, asphalt, and glass it just zaps you after a bit. I do not know if they still do this but you used to be able to get a24 hour bus pass for like 5 bucks a head and go anywhere the bus runs in Vegas, vs. paying 3 bucks everytime you get on the bus.
By the way Stardust next door to Circus Circus sells Coke products and there is a Walgreens right across the street from Stardust/ Circus Circus.

Saint I agree with you, renting an economy car will come in handy especially if you want to check out stuff off the strip.

When I was last there we had a blast checking out the low priced buffets located at the end of the casinos. LOL

Have fun and hold on to your wallet. smile.gif

Thanks Saint, thanks MrZ!, in fact my family and I considered how expensive and difficult will be getting a cab or finding a bus, so we decided to rent a car. Thanks for telling me about Walgreens and Stardust near CC!

There is a road (the name escapes me at the moment, but I want to say industrial blvd) that runs adjacent to "the strip" behind circus circus etc. it is WAAAYYYY less traveled than LV BLVD so if you guys are driving you will make hella lot better time going on the back road. You should go down the strip at least once though during the day and once at night the sights are just cool.
FYI, There is a food court across the street as well from CC it has several (probably 10) different fast food places if you want a quick meal.

01-04-2006, 09:31 PM
The closest Supermarket, thatI know of to the Strip is on Tropicana and Maryland Parkway, it's a Vons, and it near the airport and UNLV. You'll probably want to take I-15 to trop, as going down the strip, at really anytime can be a pain.
Hope this helps!

Come to think of it , there is a Mcdonalds in Circus Circus that sells coke products. It is by the actual circus stage.

Vagas is such a hedonistic play ground. LOL
I would go freaken nuts if I lived there. LOL

01-05-2006, 11:52 PM
Wow! I didn't know there's a McDonalds in Circus Circus, It's great because we're going to eat like nuts: we'll eat a lot of fast food (because the fast food restaurants in Mexico -McD, BK- doesn't compare to the great and tasty american fast food...), and take advantage of the buffets!

Thanks Saint! and thanks jmy about the Vons, one more place to find Coke products!

Zabe, I doubt that after the first month you would even bother trying to "win the jackpot" I am sure you would do the same as most and just throw in a couple bucks a week or so "just to see if your luck has changed". I have a cousin that works in the federal mint in Dallas making bills. He said after the first week of picking up and restacking packages of $100 bills the thought that " this stack is $250,000 and this pallet is $20,000,000" didn't even come to mind anymore and it was just packages of paper goods. But they still checked the lunchbox everyday and video taped every stinking move he made..well except for when he had a stinking movement because that would be illegal to video the restrooms.

My aunt and uncle relocated to Reno,NV. My aunt and uncle are very frugal. LOL Some would say penning pincher's. LOL They got into the habit of eating at the cheap buffets. Even they would end up drooping a saw buck or so in the slots. LOL

They had to stop eating at the casino's. LOL
I guarantee you, I have been to Reno and Vegas a few times, if I lived there, with in 3 months I would have to join G.A.(gamblers anonymous). LOL

I could easily become a slot maniac. LOL

there's glass bottled vernors from A&W of everrett. definitely don't stick to gas stations on the strip - try and find some local chain grocers in LV town that will have a wide selection of pops.

also - try going to the old school casinos like binsons - same action, less hustle.

MrR should be just about arriving to Vegas a little latter this evening. He did not mention if he was bringing a lap top. How about we page him at Circus Circus. LOL "MrR please check the Beverage Board for messages." LMAO

Also too,

There is a Walgreens and a CVS drug store on the Strip. They have a wide selection of drinks.

Also, at the corner of Las Vegas BLVD (the strip) and Sahara is the "World's largest gift shop" they have a selection drinks as well. Though they tend to be older. (it's walking distance from CC)
