I loathe the taste of both and think the only reason people drink them is because they are inescapable due to being placed in every free corner of the planet and most of the world's being bombarded by their advertising seemingly thousands of times a day.
If both were to dissapear from this planet forever, I would miss neither. Am I alone in this opinion?

Yeah, I think you are.

i love my pepsi
04-13-2005, 04:54 AM
Yes. I love both.

All alone there buddy.

Love my diet coke, and diet pepsi. There might be someone out there that agree's with you, but so far I would say you're alone! :(
04-13-2005, 08:56 AM
Well, since Coke owns Sprite I guess your sitting in the room by yourself.

here's an odd thing. I like pepsi, can't drink normal Coke cuz it'll give me a migraine in about 2 minutes, but I can drink Cherry Coke all day long w/no effect like normal coke.

you're allllllllllll alone
04-13-2005, 08:00 PM
By your lonesome. Diet pepsi is the best!!!

hey man, i tried to reason with these people and explain that they like the taste of these specific formulas of caramel color, corn syrup and sodium benzoate simply because theyve been raised to like it, and anyone not raised to like a particular one almost always chooses neither, but they wont listen.
its brand loyalty and you cant escape it. when i first came to this board, people were talking of new, interesting products, ideas for products, packaging and just a huge variety of things. back then it was mostly true beverage heads(not just fighters in the cola wars) and some very fun distributors.
im not sure when it happened but now its turned into "have you seen this nationally distributed product? i want to waste obsene amounts of money on it!" "i dont know, i bet pepsi will come up with something even MORE EQUAL THAN EVER to cokes latest effort".
if you were to start a beverage company, what flavors would you start with? would you pick cola, lemon lime, orange, a dr. pepperesque product, and an off lemonlime mountain dewish product? if so then you have no imagination and theres really no need to agree with all the people who are exactly the same as you, which is 90% of all people.
sorry my brain kind of stroked off there. i think pepsi and coke products cant compare to some much better products, and everyones just stuck on what theyve drunk since they were kids. so you cant win these folks over.
I don't like any kind of cola...

Franz your alone...but I do hear water is quite tasty.
04-14-2005, 10:09 AM
I'm only brand loyal until the brand i wan't isn't offered wherever I am dining or buying it, OR if someone pays me more to drink on then the other... gotta have some sort of incentive.

franz must be alone - how else do you explain his "writings"?
04-14-2005, 04:53 PM
Fran, this is whats great about the Beverage Industry, your opinion matters, you dont like their marketing thats cool, but you still like drinks, and that what matters, and that grinds them gears of progress ,personally I dont drink either, but I like some of their flavors,I prefer generics and bottled water, thats just me,I dont buy into the hype, Ive seen so many campains.

I prefer drink that not everyone else on the planet is drinking like RC and Dr. Pepper and other drinks that make my homosexual heart go a twitter.
Coke and Pepsi are for most people, but not for all!

They are both overrated. The caffeine may be the big loyalty factor with them.
I do lean towards Coke more, but I think Boylan's has the BEST overall lineup now.

i just like the taste of the drinks. I could care less about the caffiene.
