diet coke w/ splenda... why so lemony?

i picked up some diet coke w/ splenda today... just because i was curious if it would taste any better now than it did a year ago, and... it really didn't.

it's a slight improvement over regular diet coke, but i can't get past the lemony after taste.

does anyone have any idea where that "lemon" flavor is coming from?

It might be that the aftertase of splenda reminds you of the sour aftertaste a lemon leaves...I always used to think Splenda had a kind of limeish tinge to it

either way, coke zero is 10x better.

i may even like regular diet coke better than the splenda one... and i'm no fan of regular diet coke either.

coke should go back to the drawing board with DC w/ splenda. does anyone here even drink it?
