All I know is that if they sold it here, I'd sure as hell boost their sales.

I've read that it is doing better than expected in Michigan, hopefully that is a good sign for it to go national!

I predict it will do extreamly well in Michigan. The Southeastern states... I dono. It's in Mello Yello territory.

Hey KY is a pretty big mello yello area but as for me, if Vault came here, I probably wouldn't drink another mello yello until Vault died which I hope would never happen. I hope it keeps selling well in the test sites so it can go national soon.

I'd say it's doing pretty good here in Michigan, at least for me it is.

CCBCC has an interesting situation with Vault in NC. In western and eastern parts of NC, they already have Sundrop and Mello Yello. So far I've seen Vault on the shelves where they have MY only. If Vault gets pushed into those areas where Sundrop and MY are already taking up Coke's citrus soda space, I wonder what they'll do. I can't see them selling Vault, Sundrop and MY in the same market. But they've shown that they will support 2 brands in that space.

CCBCC does a great job with it's citrus brands. Sometimes I wish they were in charge of coke. Mt. Dew would have some serious competition!

FYI, someone I talked to at the company said the test-marketing results so far have been "incredible" and at some point this is going to go national.

I also found out that Coke has hired out an ad agency to produce TV spots for Vault. I haven't heard reports from anyone in the test markets actually seeing one of these commercials so I have to think they are saving them for the national launch.

If Vault comes into western North Carolina, Sud drop would have to go I think. RC Cola asheville does good job.

Hey Truth, I found some Vault in Union, SC, which is only a couple hours from you.

I guess it depends on how much you want it.

For anybody who cares, check out my Vault review on the Product Location board.

I can't wait until the national release! And ramonazo, when I visited Mexico last year I was very jealous of all your country's great sodas! I was especially fond of Fresca. In the US, Fresca isn't nearly as good.

You're right karks, I have to admit it, we have good sodas here, and also there's delicious sodas in the U.S. Did you tried only the regular version of Fresca or also the pink grapefruit and red grapefruit versions?.

Mr Zabe
08-19-2005, 06:01 PM
MrR
Which sweetener does the Mexican Fresca use?
Is it aspartame, dear lord don't say splenda. LOL

chrisok
08-19-2005, 09:26 PM
Mexican Fresca is sweetened with sugar. They're not diet sodas down there.

Mr Zabe
08-19-2005, 09:32 PM
WOW, I can see why people say such good things about Mexican Fresca. YUM!!!!!

karks88
08-19-2005, 11:36 PM
Fresca is just amazing with pure cane sugar! I also tried the Pink Grapefruit version, it was a bit strong for my taste.

It probably sounds pathetic but during my time there I was much more interested in the sodas than I was the alcohol smile.gif

I reviewed some of the Mexican sodas I tasted at:

Yes!, I saw it before, and you mentioned that you weren't found Beat in Playa del Carmen, the same here in Aguascalientes, Beat is not available here anymore (and unfortunately Fresca Rosa neither). Beat was retired in the middle of 2004 here , and also is unavailable in San Luis Potosi, Zacatecas and Leon, places that I visited recently. But despite its unavailability, Beat is still in the brand portfolio of the corporate website of Coca-Cola Mexico, maybe is still available in Mexico City: www.coca-colamexico.com.mx (http://www.coca-colamexico.com.mx)

Direct link: http://www.coca-colamexico.com.mx/htmlsite/int_2disfruta/2d_11.asp?brand=g

BTW, now that you were at P.C., did you tried Cristal fruit sodas, or Bevi, or Friolin, or Jugus, or Shandy? How does those products taste?

karks, dont worry! I don't drink alcohol too, my real vice are the sodas, specially Coke.

And Mr.Z buddy, chrisok is right, mexican Fresca is not a diet cola like in U.S., is made with real pure sugar.

As much as I loved Surge/ love Vault (EBAY), it's not a soda-energy drink hybrid. Just a soda with the caffine content near Mt. Dew, but with a more refreshing taste. The general public is supposed to believe the hybrid lie, not us.

SaveCitra,
Well said.

While I wouldn't call Vault an energy drink, it does have quite a bit more caffeine than Dew. Vault has 70.5mg of caffeine per 12oz. and Dew has 55mg per 12oz. I definitely feel a lot more awake after a Vault than I did with SURGE.

ramonazo, unfortunately I didn't get to try any of those beverages. I definitely want to go back down there again sometime and hopefully stay for awhile longer!

DJ HawaiianShirt

Yes, I find it interesting how much caffeine is in Vault, considering Surge actually had very little.

But I think the added caffeine definitely adds a bitter taste that makes Vault more interesting to drink than the other yellow syrup citrus drinks.

This is why I don't drink the citrus drinks--too syrupy.

I'll drink Diet Sun Drop once in a while, but that's all.

We'll, it's because in my country the labels in sodas doesn't mention in the ingredients if it has caffeine or not.

So when do you guys think Vault will go national?

iluvsurge220
08-23-2005, 06:35 PM
On my trip to Tennessee a few weeks ago I talked to a guy from Coca-cola as I was buying a whole shopping cart full of Vault. He said it had been selling extremely well down there and he thought it would be going national sometime before the end of the year, so hopefully it will be out everywhere soon. That stuff is awesome!!!

Mello Yello Luver
08-24-2005, 01:06 AM
I predict Vault will go National around May next year.

We will have to wait and see how Vault does on the long hall. Mello Yello and Surge also had strong starts but then they died out.

SURGE
09-30-2005, 08:59 PM
Vault is being prepared for national release as is a diet version currently dubbed Vault Zero which has yet to be tested. I think it will either show up around superbowl time like SURGE or in the springtime as seems popular for new drinks (especially citrus).

No, is my first time, the previous one my friends went there, so I will go in January.

I hope to find Coke Zero, DC Splenda and Vault (I think...)

And if I only find the first two in 2 liter, I will drink the whole bottle there!
