I'm sure since you folks all keep in the know about soda, you've already heard of this, but I just found out moments ago through watching the local news that the Jones Soda company will be releasing turkey and gravy flavored drinks for a limited time! Am I alone in thinking that's just DISGUSTING? I shudder to imagine what the concoction must taste like...ick!

those bottles have crown tops, jones uses screw tops.

and anyway, jones pulls "pranks" like this all the time. yawn, don't play into it. if they would release a turkey soda it would've been at distributors three weeks ago.

Grub eating attention mongers! Jones Soda has nothing of interest so they prey on the senses of the public to feed there own lack of creativity.

Maybe Peter is pissed because he got a wish bone broke off in his ass for such stupidity from the last share holders meeting!

I was there you should have seen his face. All smiles! It's his party and he'll smile if he wants too!

Hello Dave!

Stupid ass!

Snapple Apple Pie will go well with this.

I agree who do they think they are doing something like this. Its totally unamerican to be creative , do something outside the box. Don't they realize that life is short and there is no such time for such foolishness. Now, pass me my turkey and gravy 4-pack and my crazystraw. Now all I need is some brussel sprout soda to make me feel like im at grandmas on thanksgiving....

That is a pretty funny drink. They must be running out of new flavors and ideas in the soda world to come up with something like this though. Has any one tried this stuff yet?

whoooooooo sorry for doubting.

seems every april first jones comes along with some sort of joke PR release. if not then, some other time it seems they pull some sort of jokey hahaha thing. nothing wrong with it, i just doubted the validity of it.

so mister bevnet and ichiro, i stand corrected. but it wasn't you, it was NPR two days ago that did the trick. now mister bevnet, please go settle down and i'll go have my apple pie snapple after a turkey soda.

Everyone forgot the Dr. Brown's Celray as part of a balanced Thanksgiving meal!

Now, if I could just find some Fanta Squash Punch the meal would be really complete!

I think the idea of this beverge is nothing more than the product of an up all night crack smoking sesion. But I will give Jones Soda Co. props for saying they will donote their profits from the drink to the Toys for Tots. Other than that, what were you thinking.

what's funny about that story is that no store was able to buy it. it was only available for a short time, they only made about 20 cases or so.

it's been sold out and you'll never see it in stores. bummer. extra helpings of pie, i guess.

Ron Swedelson
11-25-2003, 12:14 AM
Only about 20 cases, that is crap. Not that I would ever wanted to try it. But now it makes their donation seem very small. Yes every bit helps, but I was under the impression it would be a few thousand dollars or something. I should have known better.

ichiro
11-25-2003, 01:27 AM
how do you know itwas only 20 cases?...did they tell you that?...

ichiro

actually if you read from the article on glamps last post, it is available in some stores on monday(today)...so before you get all fired up, get da facts...

RunWithDaLilGuy
11-25-2003, 02:15 AM
dude, it's not available in any stores. what store's going to pay eleven dollars for two bottles?

it sold out. die.

"The tan-colored soda sold out in just three hours after an initial batch was put up for sale on its Web site on Friday, a spokeswoman for the company said. "

I think its a great idea!!! Turkey gravy soda could lead the company to huge profits and bring the stock to well over 50  cents...........

energydork, learn to read!..yes it sold out online. however they were selling in some stores if you had read the story. They also said they would let the stores set the price. So before you become your typical a*****e learn to read.

Unfortunately I probably will never have the chance to try out this drink (or any other Jones drink) because it's not available in Spain.

Personally any idea that anyone comes up with to try to drum up business is great. Then at least if a consumer fancies a try they have that choice.

I don't know the full story as to why Jones is given a hard time but at least they are trying.

thanks for tossing the insult that way.
so i'm glad the new news story corrected itself and says that a few stores in the washington area are selling it. yawn. it's a lovely gesture by van stolk (who's a nice guy, despite what certain individuals think of him) to match sales figures for toys for tots.

i'd like a bottle for myself, but i'd rather see them bring back old flavors then just rig up new ones. good for jones to get some publicity, and go away ichiro, jones is doing fine without your PR wagon!

Okay folks go to ebay type in Jones Turkey and then be amazed at the amount of bidders and the prices they are willing to pay for a single bottle.

11-26-2003, 12:03 AM
Well at least you gotta give them credit for doing it with a crown cap! On those super rare occasions where Jones blunders into doing something right, it is worthy of mention. Gee whiz is EBay is attracting people by just having labels of whatever put onto a 12oz bottle then I better get busy smile.gif But Jones is getting smarter; at least they didn't make 50,000 cases of it when its demand was for only 20!!

"So how does Turkey & Gravy Soda really taste? Pretty vile. The liquid's ominous, murky brown color accurately warns consumers about the taste sensation. With the first sip, hints of sweet caramel and savory lard hit the palate, usually followed by facial expressions connoting confusion, disgust or anger."

No sign of it here in Frederick, Maryland. Where can I get it locally? Anyone know? How about this Ichiro. He seems to be associated with Jones some how. Where can I get it?

ichiro
11-26-2003, 09:51 PM
Boss, I checked with them. All is sold out. They did have some in stores in state of washington but due to all the publicity they had a run on it and its all gobbled up. ebay has some for only 30 dollars and more a bottle...amazing!
