Just wondering if anyone has heard if LW and PB will return next year and/or become part of the year-round line. Also, anything about diet versions?

Livewire is already year-round in some PepsiAmericas territory. I believe Chicago. And they have a diet version as well.

We can only hope that Pitch Black will make its' way to the beverage graveyard, never to return again.

in chicago here livewire is available year round, but not all parts of illinois are that way, as in some more country-ish areas i saw signs "its back!!!" and what not.

who knows if it will be back next summer, I think a good bet is to see if it stays in chicago during the winter/spring and if it does, it will probably be elsewhere in the summer..

as for pitch black, i could easily see them keeping it around, or just bringing it back every halloween, as it seems to be selling very well.

LiveWire is already off the shelves here, has been for weeks now. PitchBlack is in all the popular selling sizes.

Thanks. I think we're keeping LiveWire year round; I'm still seeing shelves restocked.
Does anyone know if there's pictures of diet LiveWire around the net?

The Pepsi Americas Rep. told me they are out of syrup for Pitch Black and there is no more. They estimate it will be sold out by Oct. 1.

Buy BLACK LEMONADE instead; the ORIGINAL black soda. Out of syrup... do you think Pepsi runs out of syrup unless it's part of the Planned Obsolescence? Come on... a little common sense please!!!

Here in Iowa, LW is still around - sans the 'back for summer 2004' label. I assume it's going to be year 'round. It disappeared last time around January and reappeared in April.

Code Red is getting hard to find here, Was this temporarily pulled off for shelf space till the pitch black gets sold?

Here in Northwest PA you can finds tons of Pitch Black 20-oz bottles at the local gas stations (Country Fair). They actually still have so much at some locations that the individual bottles are stacked in crates on the floor and not in the cooler.

Livewire is also all over the place here and no longer has limitied edition on the bottles.

Just got a LiveWire can out of a vending machine yesterday. No Limited Edition on it.

Check out this site:

http://www.mountaindew.com/pitchblack/

Says "Mountain Dew Pitch Black has vanished from stores forever! Or has it? Details to come. Stay tuned!"

I've heard that MD had these promotions planned for both LW and PB. That they would say they were limited editions, pull them for about a month to increase demand and then bring them back. All a marketing ploy.
