Here in Aguascalientes I saw some 2.5 liter bottles with the "Groovy" design...

Even C-S around here has two types of bottles (splash and A&W bottle.) Coke really has them beat there. That swirl bottle is so boring, and they use it for literally everything they make.

i agree about pepsi's bottles. coke's contour bottles are much cooler.

either way, i like these new pepsi cans.

it's kind of interesting that pepsi's cans are more stylish, and coke seems to be going the other route... with more simple packaging with cherry coke and coke zero.

They are the same size and everything as the old swirl (which they will continue to use for Mountain Dew and other non brand Pepsi sodas) but do have the globe molded in with the ripples coming off it. I think it is pretty cool bottle myself. I will try to find a picture.

I think these are cool. Too bad it's one time only. They are all interesting in thier own way but my fave was the one with the guitar on it.I collect Dew stuff and like Pepsi but undecided if I would collect these cans. They would probably sit around until I got tired of moving them around or tripping over them and end up drinking them. I give kudos to Pepsi for making these. Very interesting and unique.

As far from now here in my city the new designs appeared in 2.5 liter and 600 ml bottles, and from the designs that appear on the website, there's only the "Groovy", "International Travel" and "Global Festivals" designs, and also another one with a lot of handprints around the globe called "United Family" and another one with vegetables on the squares and hand-written recipes called "Our Flavor"... the ironic thing is that the new designs haven't appeared on cans yet...

I picked a fridge pack of Pepsi at Walgreen's this evening. I was down to my last can,I was in a bad spot. LOL (I paid $4 for it. :( )

I just opened the fridge pack and to my glee, the cans are of the 001 new design. WOW! I'm still getting use to the can. I really dig the way the Pepsi logo and name look on the can.
I wounder if the design of the fridge pack box will change as the fridge pack I brought (11/5/07) was of the current style.

I finally got a moment to inspect the new 001 Pepsi can. Right beneath the list of ingredients it states the amount of caffeine per 12oz...38mg's.

I have never seen caffeine amounts listed on a big three soda pop can. Is this a first?

Guys, I have a question, the new Pepsi design has only appeared in cans in U.S. or also in 20 oz. labels and 2 liter labels? cause here in Mexico the new design is on cans and also on all the labels of the non-returnable bottle sizes.

Mr Zabe
03-04-2007, 08:49 AM
I do not recall seeing the new 001 or other of the new designs on the bottles as of yet.

I will have to check for the new packaging here. As far as the Caffeine Information on the cans/bottles that is something that will be standard on all beverages soon, Pepsi was just one of the first to add it on their cola packaging.

Gee, if I had seen that 2ltr design back in my 24/7 party days, I might of had more intense flash backs. I really dig the new design. The bottle practically leaps right at you. :) I think Pepsi is "thinking out of the box" with the new can and 2ltr designs.

Thanks Fusion for the pix.

The 2 liter bottles have the #005 designs on them though. The #001 design is in 12 packs here but the cans inside were #004 designs, I was kinda mad about that since that is my favorite design in the series so far.

I picked up a cube of Pepsi this morning.
To my glee, the cans are the #007 design.
The one with the NASCAR Jeff Gordon design.

I'm very impressed and very pleased with the new Pepsi deigns.
IMO they are pleasing to the eye and give Pepsi a nice a "cool"
presentation to us soda pop freaks.

popologist

for the most part, i don't think that packaging effects whether people choose coke or pepsi anymore (since almost everyone already knows which one they prefer); however, i do think that good packaging encourages people to buy MORE of what they like.

like, say you're at the store to pick up some milk and eggs, and then see a shiny new bag of doritos and a bright bottle of pepsi, you might pick them up as well... because it caught your eye.

i also think packaging and advertising reinforces good feelings people have for their product of choice.

a think a "fresh" new look makes consumers think that their brand cares about them, and is paying attention to them... which strengthens brand loyalty.

Mr Zabe
03-19-2007, 12:13 AM
Actally IMO the general public on a scale of 1 being "who cares" and 10 being "shwing that's so cool"... is about a 1.5. LOL I think new labels provide for better (up dated) product differentiation but do not increase unit sales by any significant amount.

Now as for us soda pop freaks the above analysis amounts to a hill of coffee beans. Speaking for myself, any one that spends more than 40 minutes in the soda isle (like myself) reading and lusting after soda pop is way off the above scale. LOLOLOL

We have been getting a couple of different designs in the same shells from the warehouse so they must be mixing them up...Here you can see two new and the old standard 2L. Sorry the one is so blurry its from my cell...I am interested in what they will do with the packaging when this promotion is over? I like the way Pepsi is now under the globe in all the new designs, maybe they will keep it that way?

Looks exactly like the mexican Pepsi Max label, although in the mexican one, the Pepsi word appears a little smaller, there's blue stripes on each side of the label and it has a completely black background...

But IMO the label of the upcoming american version of Pepsi Max looks better...
