Well darn, $1.39 20 oz bottles have curbed my consumption considerably.
I got back from a gas station where they just raised coke 20 oz to $1.59!

I don't like this at all.

$1.59? OMG!

Interestingly, there was a 2/$2 promotion going on for Pepsi products at this same store.

That's unreal. I can get 500 ml bottles of Coke, Squirt etc. at the local mercado latino for $1.49 and I thought that was a premium price.

While that is the case with Coke, I have seen 7-up products that are 99c at gas stations around town here. And that doesn't seem to be the sales price.
Why get Sprite Zero at 1.30, when Diet 7-Up is at 99c?

Why get Sprite Zero at 1.30, when Diet 7-Up is at 99c? I frequently consume 7up products, as those are easy enough to find at a reasonable price. And also, the sodas are just plain better! Except the cola and lemon lime, but I am not a huge drinker anyway.

And I actually found a gas station on my way to work that has bottles of sun drop, first i've seen in my metro area.

Coke is not going to win my business with 1.59 20 oz.

Woodman's (mega grocery store located in Kenosha,Wi) has had 6pks of 16.9oz 7up,DP,A&W Rootbeer,Welsch Grape and Sunkist Orange on sale for 5 for $10. They had the "new" diet 7up as well in the 16.9oz 6pks. This sale has been on for at least the past 3 months.

Today I picked up 5 six packs of DP. YUM
It was produced on 1/13/07. Nice and fresh. LOL

The prices of Coke and Pepsi Fridge packs were either 4 for $12 or $6.50 a cube.

I love how they have Mello Yello, Fanta, and Barq's for 89 cents for a 20 oz. If prices of other 20's keep going up, I'm just gonna keep drinkin mello yello. I love that stuff.

Mello Yello is the only one of those that is drinkable..

$1.59 for a 20oz coke? That is too high. I'm glad I can get it for a price of $1.18 at Wal-Mart here in Muskogee for now.

I found $1.59 Coke today. Pepsi was $1.49, on sale @2/$2.22, and 7-UP was $1.49. Coke 2 liters were on sale for 4/$5.00. Candy bars were .92 which discouraged me from trying the "limited" Snickers Dark. Average 20oz price around here is still $1.39 with limited $1.49.

WOW..it seem we will pay around $1.50 for a 20oz btl of soda pop by summer. :(

Say for all the Kit Kat lovers, you have to try the new Carmel Kit Kat (new long bar). Oh my gosh the mix of soft caramel and the thick milk chocolate cover tastes truly out of this world. smile.gif

Time to switch to fountain sodas. The typical price for a 32oz fountain beverage is $.99

Much better buy that the 20oz.

You both do make a good point. Getting a fountain soda pop is cheaper and a better value; my only problem is that of consistant quality. By that I mean when I buy a can or bottle,98% of the time I get +/- the same nearly exact tasting soda pop.

I like most of us soda pop freaks, are shall I say "soda pop snobs". LOL I mean that in a good way. We have sensitive, some would say "cultivated" taste buds. Speaking for myself, I do get fountain soda pops at fast food resturants and once in a while at C-Stores. Yet given the choice of a fountain soda pop or an ice cold 20oz of one of my A-List soda pops, 90% +/- I will get the 20oz. But hey I'm a soda pop freak.LOL

Here 20oz range from $1.05 (seen this price at very few stores) to $1.39. 1 liters at one grocery store here in town cost $1.19 (reg. price).

Our 20oz just went from $1.12 to $1.25 (at WM) along with just about every single package we carry.

12packs from 3.48 to 3.68
2Liters from 1.25 to 1.33
6pk24oz from 2.98 to 3.33
24pk Aquafina from 5.48 to 6.88

The costs for raw materials to make soda is going up which means its passed along to the consumer.

Pop is getting expensive everywhere now a days. I paid $1.49 for a mello yello the other day here at a speedway. Even at restaurants it is getting to be almost $2 everywhere for a coke. I have tried the fountain drinks and even went as far as to buy a refillable cup at Speedway but they are inconsistent with everywhere you go. I usually end up pouring out a couple of pops before I find one that tastes somewhat decent.

A 12pk of Pepsi cost like almost $5 (reg. price) at Wal-Mart in Muskogee. At Price Cutter, a 2 liter of Pepsi cost $1.79 (reg. price). Coke cost $1.59 (reg. price) at the same store.

We are running Pepsi 12 pack cans 2/$8 next week. Whoopie. Wegmans has a several week promotion on Dr Pepper 12 pack cans @ $2.49. Thats the cheapest I've seen DP around here since Fall.
At least 5 years ago a Pepsi price list had 12 pack cans at a suggested retail of $7.99 and 2 liters at $1.99. Of course no one ever retailed them at that price.

WOW! Not sure where everyone lives, but in the Dallas area of TX, we regularly have sales of 3 12pks / $10 (pretty much weekly), but usually once a month they'll have 4 / $10 or even more rarely (like this week), once of the stores is having 5 / $10. That's when we stock up!

Oh, and by the way, it's SODA, not POP! :)
