I just found this on www.cocacollection.com (http://www.cocacollection.com) website in the news section. It is a can of Coke Zero from South Korea. Seems to me like a strange place to release it. I don't know if low calorie sodas are popular there.

i believe that coke zero's packaging is black everywhere except in the US.

i wish we'd get the black packaging here, too.

here's a link to the australian/UK packaging:

the only thing i might change is to make the wave/ribbon red too... instead of white.

i agree. the american packaging looks kind of "generic"... and a lot like diet coke's original packaging.

the black is much more "macho"... and distinguishes it from other coke products. i hope they change it to black here.

The website isn't working at the moment, I wonder if the can is a pre production or mock up of some kind, and hasn't been released yet!

according to an article i read last week, coke zero is performing well in all demographics (even though coke tried to target it at young adult males).

still, i haven't seen any commercials for coke zero in a long time... while i see plenty for coke classic and diet coke.

has anyone seen any coke zero advertising?

Black is always cool, just ask Johnny Cash!

I'm sure the reason for the difference is that Americans have been conditioned to see lighter colored packaging and think 'diet'.

but i thought the idea was to make coke zero seem un-diet.

also, even though coke zero is performing well in the US, it's actually doing even better in countries with the black packaging.

The weirdest thing is that in UK Coke Zero will be only released in 330 ml glass bottles...

IMO....This packaging/color scheme rocks!!!!
IMO it would have been so much better as far as for new brand recognition.

Thanks da987 for the pictures... I misunderstood the note, I thought it was going to be released only in glass bottles...

Now THAT looks like some nice packaging

coke should definitely make the switch to black in the US too. it would totally distinguish Coke Zero from Diet Coke (which had traditionally had white packaging).

by the way, coke responded to my query about whether ace-k will be added to diet coke and, basically, they said, "try coke zero." ;)
