Pepsi should release it in Mexico instead of wasting time and money making their Pepsi Gold or Pepsi Fire or Pepsi Clear...

just what we need... another cherry-vanilla flavored beverage.
it's getting to the point that the names of these new flavors may not fit onto the packaging. LOL!

Thanks for the false hopes. LMAO
Sugar soda pop or bust (yes I will bust).LOL

so these will probably replace vanilla pepsi? Awwww these long name combo flavors always never last, they should just leave vanilla pepsi alone i mean now that vanilla coke is gone its got no competition.
05-17-2006, 03:06 PM
So these are just going to be diet flavors? That really sucks!!!
05-17-2006, 03:13 PM
i dont drink diet soda so this sucks but at the same time we sell alot more diet then regular - at least in the flavored colas - besides wild cherry pepsi the other regulars (lime, vanilla, and twist) dont sell worth a damn. i think its a smart move, maybe if things go well they will come out with regular versions of these.

So basically a bcv pepsi and a strawberry pepsi? interesting...

I can't say I blame them for releasing these only as diet. The regular flavors sell well for a while and then drop off so quickly that it's not worth taking up the shelf space. I do think they should keep Vanilla Pepsi though. Ironically, in my area you can find plenty of Pepsi Lime and Twist (even regular Twist) but Diet Vanilla is usually sold out and regular was discontinued. On a side note, our Coke bottler, Abarta, has regular Dr Pepper Berries and Cream but no diet and it doesn't seem to move.

I saw both reg & diet in Cool Packs when I was in Chester County recently.. produced by Philadelphia Coke for ABARTA.

Why does Pepsi copy every luke-warm idea that Coke puts out? Black cherry Pepsi? C'mon...
05-17-2006, 11:50 PM
Vanilla Coke and especially Diet Vanilla Coke are in plenty abundance here in Columbus Ohio. No sign of it going away just yet.

personally, i don't like a lot of "flavors" poluting my sugary sodas, but... since diets don't usually taste as good, adding flavors probably breaks up the monotony for some people (helps hide that "diet" aftertaste). though, personally, i think some of the "flavors" have aftertastes of their own.

This whole DIET ONLY crap is a LOAD!
I want new Pepsi, dammit!

both, coke and pepsi, are focusing on their diet portfolio's because that's the only segment that's growing.
because of health concerns (like diabetes) and weight-consciousness, people are leaving sugary sodas in droves; so, adding new flavors to regular coke and pepsi aren't really going to save them anyway.
the new battleground is diet soda (and juices, waters and sports drinks).
doesn't coke already have more sugar-free versions than regular?
caffeine free coke
coke with lime
black cherry vanilla coke
caffeine free diet coke
diet cherry coke
diet coke with lime
black cherry vanilla diet coke

what's a "cool pack"? is that a new type of packaging?
05-18-2006, 07:19 PM
They need to try these again..
05-18-2006, 07:53 PM
I wonder how those tasted...
05-18-2006, 07:54 PM
I would love to try those!!!
05-19-2006, 12:56 AM
It would be nice if they released all the new flavors in regular and diet, instead of just diet...it makes no sense and most die hard diet cola drinkers dont like the diet flavored colas anyways.
05-19-2006, 12:07 PM
The reason they're only bringing these in Diet has already been talked about. Regular CSD's have been declining for several years straight. Diets and non carbs are growing. There is only so much space on the shelf and in the cold vault...the companies have to be more selective on what they bring out. Every time a new item comes out, you risk the chance of losing another on the shelf to make room.

Diet sodas tend to taste too artificially sweet.

the new cola wars are between the diet drinks AND the sports drink, energy drink and water markets.
i just read an article how that, in the 70's, coffee was the most popular drink in america. in the 80s to present, it has been soda, but, in 15 years, coca-cola says it will be bottled water.
