I am looking for a cherry soda that I got out of a vending machine at Penn State University in State College, PA. It's called "Cherikee Red" and has an American Indian with a big headress in red on a white can. Do you have any advice as to how I might go about locating this product?

Cherikee Red and All Cotton Club Beverages are available in 6 pack cans in the Indianapolis Area. I have seen them at Big Lots. Cherikee Red and Cotton Club are now products of the Dr Pepper/Seven Up Bottling Group. They are distributed by American Bottling Company, Northlake, IL 60164. Cherikee Red is a great cherry soda. I am glad it is still made after all the negative publicity over the Indian Chief on the can.

Cherikee Red is a delicious cherry soda, that should be tasted by everyone, honestly I think it is the best one out there, even better than Big Red!!

Ah... it is tasty but the BEST??!! I don't know...Jumpin Johnny out of Michigan makes a great cherry and Filbert's cherry is tasty and I'm sure the west coast folks will chime in with Lolli's...

Oh yeah... Lolli's is great! And of course I like Cheerwine and Boylans Black Cherry. IT's gotta be in glass...

Wow, I haven't heard the name Cherikee Red in years! I have family up near Scranton and I can remember getting a Cherikee Red out of vending machines up there when I was little. I didn't even know it was still made. Perhaps I'll take a trip... :D

I don't seem to see much of it in PA towns like I used to.

Just wanted to update you all on this one. I have not been able to find it at any stores in my area, but I did find it availabe online at:
05-18-2003, 12:36 AM
I saw it today in 12 packs (5-17-03) in 12 packs at Kmart in Altoona, PA along w/Cotton Club 6 packs for .99. Good deal if you're in the area.
Cherikee Red was a Pepsi product in Cumberland, MD for years, but was abandoned here over a decade ago. If you find an old machine around, you can find a spot still for it. I've never pushed a button there to see what comes out now, considering Pepsi doesn't bottle a cherry anything here now. Maybe Code Red....

i'm resurrecting this post to see if there are any places around pittsburgh or morgantown wv that have cherikee red. or any other cotton club brands...does anyone know of a good place to check?

That Flavor of Ohio site doesn't have it anymore. Dang. I knew I should have tried it when the link was originally posted.

I recall seeing Cotton CLub more towards Meadville and Erie. Cherikee Red also used to be found along Rt 6 in the Eastern part of Pa but I have not seen it for awhile.

The last time I saw Cherikee Red and 50/50 in cans was in the Mount Pocono Super Walmart, but that was 2-3 years ago.
That's Crystal Soda Water territory. I wish Corey would pop in and let us know what's going on up that way.

I'd like to know whats going on with Crystal Water Soda also. Its been along time since I've seen a Dr Pepper package with their name on it.

Cherikee Red was seen yesterday somewhere near Pittsburgh in a Wal-Mart Supercenter, but I forget which one. I think it might have been Somerset. Yesterday was 6-5-04 BTW.
06-08-2004, 07:18 PM
But is Cherikee Red easy to find around Pittsburgh or is it only in a few places?
06-09-2004, 12:48 AM
It's not too easy to find. It's very hit or miss. I'd just hit every store, and maybe 5-10% will have it. It's easier in the westcentral part of the state, around Somerset and Johnstown.
ABC in Pittsburgh is getting bigger on Big Red than Cherikee Red.
06-09-2004, 12:07 PM
Yeah after I bought a few cans from Flavor of Ohio (like 2 years ago) I haven't been able to find it since. Too bad because it really is a great soda.
06-18-2004, 12:57 PM
Hey Whats up?
Cherikee Red is still available via 6 pk 12oz cans, 20oz bottles and 2 Liter from Crystal Soda Water Co. in Scranton, PA (570) 347-5661.
DPSUBG (ABC) Pittsburgh still produces 20oz, 12oz Cans, 2 liter as well if your in that area.
