I really don't mean to get off on a rant here, but I must tell my story about Energy 69. When I first heard of this drink, I was intrigued. Great website as well. Awesome name, one of the best names out there, I think. Then I got into distribution arrangements. It was purty darn expensive. I wound up not buying it at that point.

So, I finally seen it in a small store. After a conversation with the guy, he told me that the distributor dropped off product, never to return. He also told me in the 3 months he had it, he sold a total of 1, count em 1, can.

He gave me a can, free of charge, after I gave him a can of my stuff. It tasted like gasoline. I'm not saying it to be mean, I'm saying it because it's true. What do you guys think of this drink?

I would just say anyone who thought it was a cool name is a moron...and of course it didnt sell. Only beavis and butthead would be walking down the street drinking a can of that. Good god, cmon man, get a grip..make sure to stash your porn mags too.

JP, I dont think you have to worry about them any more. They've been disappearing from the selves lately. I actually did some research on the company, great guys but the product has spotty sell through. My guess is that their distributors are losing interest.

let me correct that, Iam only referring to NY. They may do very well in all other areas.

It's all over NYC. It doesn't sell very well. Stores price it at $1.99 and put it next to Red Bull, so it doesn't sell. Since stores bought deals like buy 5 cases get 5 cases free they are stuck with it, unless they unload it for $1 a can. I think the distributor will dump it and pick up some other cheap brand.

I was just gettin gready to take this product on. Maybe I have better wait a bit longer and see what it does. I have heard good and bad, wonder how it will do in IOWA

I've never even seen this product apart from internet ads.

Rubner, If you are in vending you should be able to get any of the major brands to sell in your machines. Red Bull probably won't cut you a price break, but some of the other major energy players would probably give you a nice price break if you buy enough cases and tell the how many vending machines their product will be in. Most importantly don't risk buying a no name energy drink like energy 69 and try selling it in a vending machine.

Well.... yes I am biased but if you want an alternative to 69 that has proven sell through and has been around since 2001 may I suggest SumPoosie Energy Drink. The taste is great and it is now in a 16 ounce can. You can check us out at the Bar and Beverage Show March 7th and 8th. Its easy to find our booth just follow the crowd !

does anyone have any positive things to say about this drink, like it's doing well in a certain area?

i figure if i could bash the hell out of it in my inital post, i could play the role of devil's advocate and give it a chance for folks to say good things about it too.

JP .... I always thought Energy 69 was somehow trying to emulate what we were doing. But when I tasted the product I soon realized we had little to worry about.

JP,

I can’t believe you really like the name. Like the other guy said it’s like Bevis and Butthead would drink it.

I used to live in Vermont while I don’t like Vermonters I don’t think it would sell any better there.

With all due respect and you do deserve respect. I know how hard you work and how tough it is out there.

Do you really think it’s a good representation for your company to carry a product with an overtly sexual name?

Does it represent you as the owner?

Would you be proud of to carry a sexualized beverage?

I would be ashamed for my mother to know I sold a product like that.
