View Full Version : SP spotted in DFW

I finally saw a convenience store with SP in it! The store is an independent Diamond Shamrock in north Ft. Worth. There were about 10 cases in the cooler. Retail price was $2.99 per bottle.

10-28-2004, 03:58 PM
Amazing that a C-Store would allow that in their cooler. But, most sell soft and hard core magazines etc. Whatever.

$2.99 a bottle. Damn, that seems really high. How much does that stuff cost per case?

10-29-2004, 07:39 AM
I know the owner fairly well but I forget to ask what he paid for it. It must be around $40-42 per case. "Abid" told me that he bought it on a whim from some guy who delivered from the trunk of his car. I told him I hope it was on consignment!

BOOOOOOO from boodoo!!!!!

10-30-2004, 01:14 AM
I charge 36 bucks a case and I have a special going right now buy 10 get one free! That brings the case cost to just over 32 bucks!

C Stores are perfect for SumPoosie!

10-30-2004, 01:21 PM
thats 36 bucks too much...i think the government should ban sp. Porn is a detriment to society.

Thats not cheap at all. Know I know why SS said it was way to expensive to buy. I could see $27-$29 a case and buy 5 get 1 free or something. If you can pull it off, go for it, just dont know how you can say Red Bull is ripping people off with a proven product and you come in way overpriced.

10-31-2004, 12:07 AM
SumPoosie is not cheap Ron and has never claimed to be but it is still much less expensive per ounce than RB.

You must remember that SumPoosie comes in a high quality 12 oz. glass bottle, not a little 8 oz. tin can.

But like I said I have a special going on that if you buy 10 cases at 36 bucks you get one free that brings the per case cost to just over 32 bucks just like RB.

Remember with each case of SumPoosie you get 96 more ounces than RB.

But you also get a glass bottle with a ice cold energy drink made with real cane sugar not to mention a collectable piece of art.

Uhh...Bawls was much cheaper than that...all the 16 oz. energy drinks are cheaper than that...X-drinks from XTZ industries is much cheaper than that (12 oz. bottles). And much less expensive per ounce than RB...uh...SP is almost 13 cents per oz while RB is 16 cents per oz...wow...thats a HUGE difference. I have to disagree about the high quality bottle. Its the same "chubby" beer bottle that is used time and time again, I dont care about the cane sugar, and I dont collect art. Really if its all about your "art" on there, I think its cheaper to subscribe to Play Boy per month then buy a bottle. But just my opinion. To much money for a case.

10-31-2004, 06:05 PM
Again Ron SumPoosie is about 25% less than RB

You may not consider 25% much but almost everyone else in the world does.

There is a big difference between a product in a tiny can and a product in a glass bottle. If you don't know the huge difference.... I feel sorry for you.

If you don't like the art give it to someone who does..... most people like art.

Anyway you slice it SumPoosie cost less and you get more for your money.

BooKoo sells for the same price as RB. So thats the best deal, right E-dude? 24oz for the price of 8.3.

11-01-2004, 05:32 PM
Bookoo at 24oz. is for 3 people to share I guess. Why you would put 3 servings in one can is strange unless you plan on sharing with a couple of friends. Certainly I would not try to drink all of that at once and there is no way to keep the product fresh once you have opened it.

I guess they want to be the BIG GULP of the industry.

Ron Swedelson
11-03-2004, 12:03 AM
but isnt a 12 oz SP for 1 person...so wouldnt Bookoo be for 2 peopls according to you. Or what if people like 2 SP's, would it be ok to have 1 bookoo...I personaly think 24 oz is way to much, but I am just wondering which way you are arguing.

11-03-2004, 07:18 AM
No Ron all you have to do is look on the back of the can and it clearly states that BooKoo contains 3 servings. SumPoosie is one serving per bottle.

11-03-2004, 07:32 AM
Like anyone pays attention to the serving size here in the land of bigger is better.

E-Dude do you ever feel that you are raging against the wind?

The righteous path is the path seldom taken.

Ron Swedelson

So your argument is based upon what you write on your bottle. Even though Bookoo is 24 oz. which is twice as big as yours...you feel that your 12 oz is just one serving, while 24 oz of Bookoo is 3 servings, but 2 of your SP is only 2 servings...doesnt add up to me in your argument...but oh well. We agree that BooKoo is definatly a lot to drink for an energy drinks. But we also know you dont have a problem with someone buying 2 Sp's and drinking them.

11-03-2004, 09:22 PM
I agre with you totally on that Ron, and I think BooKoo will do really well in the market.

11-04-2004, 07:28 AM
That path seldom taken is often overgrown and not well established....thats because it is the wrong way! Turn back my friend, turn back!

11-04-2004, 07:49 AM
Ron what do you not understand?????????

My Gosh son..... SumPoosie is a 12oz. one serving glass bottle.

BooKoo is 24oz. and according to THIER LABEL it is a 3 servings item. I guess you are supposed to share it with friends and family.

Ron Swedelson
11-04-2004, 07:56 PM
I understand what the label says..but I am arguing on the actual oz. of the drinks. If someone wanted to drink 2 SP's, would you tell them no because 24 oz. is more than anyone should have of an energy drink? Or would you limit that content to 3 SP's (32 oz.) because a 24 oz. BooKoo is 3 servings and to much in your opinion.

11-05-2004, 01:03 AM
i think it's smart to put on a bottle that something is one serving. like people are going to reclose a bottle becaue they finished exactly 2/3rds of it. moreover, it helps the consumer see exactly how much crap is in the thing. get off the guy about the goddamn label. jesus. all of this **** gets really tiring

11-05-2004, 07:47 AM
I give you exhibit:

A) Frito/Lay "Big Grab" (multiple servings in one package).
B) M&M/Mars "King Size" (multiple servings in one package).
C) Coke/Pepsi "20oz" (multiple servings in one package).

Bigger is better!

11-06-2004, 10:15 AM
First of all Ron.. 3 SumPoosie's would be 3x12
or 36 oz.

Secondly my point is that this is an attempt to fool the consumer. Most consumers do not multiply the servings number.

last.... I have no idea what you are talking about Ron.

Why do you think they offer larger bags? Do you have any idea how many table spoons of sugar is in a Big Gulp?

Bigger is Better??? How much do you weigh boodoo?

Ron Swedelson
11-07-2004, 01:15 PM
Id say about 30 table spoons in a big gulp...but I drink diet, so how many table spoons of artificial sweetner is in there. Besides, when I was talking to you about BAWLS, you kept saying how much you would rather buy a Big Gulp Mt. Dew and how much you enjoyed it, better watch your sugar intake there.

My question was, the labes say what they say, I dont care what they consider a serving. You say BooKoo is way to much at 24 oz. I am asking, would you stop someone from drinking 2 SP's because that is 24 oz. of beverage?

Also, if you are so conserned with the health issues, why dont you stop selling energy drinks and go open a GNC or a health gym were you can sell only water and wheat grass. You are preaching to people here who make their living off selling beverages, including your self. What do you hope to accomplish here?

11-07-2004, 05:36 PM
haven't seen SP in any stores is RI, Mass or NYC but have have been seeing Sex Kola alot.. from C stores to bars sell for 1.99 per bottle sex sells

11-08-2004, 07:44 AM
Right on Ron, no sugar in my 44oz fountain Diet Coke!

11-08-2004, 12:29 PM
Ron what I hope to accomplish here is to make people rethink what they are doing. The continued use of HFCS will only put a black eye on our industry.

This product alone is responsible for dramatic weight increase in our country. The product is garbage and we all know it!

It is being used because it saves a few pennies, but the damage it does is the same type of damage smoking does to you. Smoking is a slow death and effects quality of life.... So does consuming HFCS!

Natural Pure Cane Sugar is not only better tasting it is healthier than HFCS and those are both facts and we all know it so WHY are we doing nothing about it????????

THAT is my point... we all know HFCS is crap yet we continue to feed it to our customers.... STUPID!

Ron Swedelson
11-08-2004, 09:20 PM
How much difference in wieght would you gain or you had the same amount of "garbage" for 4 years, and the same type of person had pure cane sugar for the 4 year period? Also, why is no one doing anything about it...$15 billion in sales by coke...I dont think stock holders want to change that. Same with the rest of the companies. They make products for money, not for health. But hey, at least RB doest have HFCS.

11-11-2004, 12:09 AM
BooKOO!!! Bigger is better it is like someone going into a Starbucks and getting a Quad shot Mocha. smile.gif

11-15-2004, 11:12 PM
I bought Red Bull in Czech Republic & Brazil.......

Hmmmm....didn't see Sum Poosie though.

Oh well....keep trying E-Dude ;)

Comparing RB to SP is simply ridiculous. These are not competeting products. If this was SPs intention, then all qualities aside, it failed miserably. It doesn't taste the same, it doesn't have the same effect, it has different demos and is primarily sold into different outlets. Why do you persist in comparing, Edude? Because SP is supposed to be an "energy drink"?

And as for the "artwork"...you were honestly kidding about that, right? C'mon, we're not buying any cases from you so don't patronize us. But hey, if this is truly one of SPs pitches, give it it us in full. Is this intended to be collected "artwork"?
