Nick here are a few very cool store chains to get cheap odd lots and dollar items. You can find energy drinks and soda pop. The dollar tree has fresh stock.

You can check their web site, http://www.biglots.com
There are 1400 stores nationally. You can type in a zipcode and find a store nearest you.

Because of the bottle deposit you won't find much soda in New York stores.

Dang, all we have here at Big Lots is KMX Blue, and TONS of it. I liked the other KMX much better, this one I just can't get into.
You know your drink is in trouble when it is collecting dust on the shelfs of Big Lots! LOL
Actually by then it is too late.

Yeah, lots of KMX blue here as well, for 48ยข. Codes are still good, which surprised me.

I would be surprised if the energy drinks at Big Lots and say 99 cent stores are still in code. I would be afraid to buy them...

I would think that Big Lots would have short code product.

The only in code soda pop I have come across at Big Lots was a few flavors of a local brand made in Ohio. The name escapes me. In general I never have seen in code food or beverages at Big Lots. The Dollar Tree store is very cool. Great selection of in code stuff. smile.gif

Maybe the weekly sale items are fresh. It seem each time I looked at shelf beverage items, more often than not they were out of code. It cold be a store issue of not checking or rotating stock.
I have brought good spring water and other goods that were on floor plates or displays. I'm sure if my local store had you Dad's Root Beer I would have been very happy. Dad's is one of my favorite root beers. smile.gif

I can tell you first hand that Big Lots orders products in advance of manufacturing. We just ran the new Dad's Root Beer 1 liter items. The product was manufactured the week of 1-16-6 and ran in an ad during the week of 2-26-6. It was sold out in the stores that I visited.

You might find some in a store near you. The 5 flavors of Dad's products were sold nationally. I believe that all stores carried the product except in CT, DE, IA, ME, MA, OR & VT. Most of these states require a deposit for soft drinks.

Big Lots stuff is not out of code. I finally went yesterday and it had so many things there and none of the energy drinks were more than a dollar. I bought some of everything and most items were $.59. I read this thread long ago but finally went and I will keep going back. Nice knowing you Hi-Health.

Some stuff in Big Lots is out of code. I have seen juices in there that were brown, they were so old.

I just went there and picked up some Fuze agave cactus (5), red berry lightnin energy (2) and joey cappuccino (3), arizona memory (1) (blue bottle) I also got one of those chocolate oranges for a dollar. only spent 7 dollars.
I don't think I've had the fuze agave before, but I really liked the snapple elements agave, so thats why I got more of those than everything else.

Red berry Lightnin was actually really impressive to me. I went back for some more. I bought a lot of fuze as well. I also spent like 7 dollars and got 10 Lightnin's and some raisin bars. Big Lots is my new spot.
