Hey all,
Just wondering if anyone knows about the new Cadbury Schweppes 16oz energy drink: "Coolah". I have tasted it and it is great (IMO). Lemonade flavor.
What are your thoughts?

Haven't seen it yet. But CS just bought out the local bottler and I feel it will be here shortly.
Great Plains coke just brought out BooKoo here as well. They now carry 4-5 brands of edrinks with each having at least 2 variants of each brand/flavor.

we just got some in at our coke plant. i think we start distribution of it in August.

It's different, it's a citrus flavored energy drink, and goes down pretty smooth. it's got a very strong citrus taste to it, and doesn't have a medicinal taste to it such as some of the e-drinks like Red Jak. it comes in a 16oz yellow can, and Coolah, from my understanding is a town in Australia...for anyone wondering where the hell they got the name from.

Is it a Cadbury or Coke product??
Thanks

Where is CCE distributing this? Is it only testing right now? I work closely with CCE and haven't seen or heard anything about it.

What size package is it, 8oz, 16oz??

the product taste ok, but I wasn't blown away lets hope this isn't another Von Dutch. its a Cadbury product distribute by coke, I was wondering since cadbury bought out the DPSU Owned dist network that the local 7-up cadbury branches would distribute the product.

Do you have a pic? It's interesting that CCE will carry 3 portfolios of energy drinks. What will Pepsi counter with to help their struggling brands. It will be an interesting few months...

16oz package. From my understanding they are using a test market. Northeast, West Coast, Southwest and Midwest states only.

Hey everyone, I really know very little about distribution, so I have a question. Both Coke and Pepsi produce and distribute their products. But does Cadbury Schweppes distribute their own products at all?

The Chicago bottler for CS is American Beverages??? They bottle all of CS soda pop and distribute to Illinois and Wisconsin. Perhaps (to lazy to Google) a few other areas.

I always say Howdy Hi when I see the route men in grocery stores.

Cadbury is buying their biggest bottler, the Dr Pepper/Seven Up Bottling Group (DPSUBG). They are also buying the #2 bottler, the All American Bottling Company and merging it with DPSUBG.

I tried it yesterday. It has the exact same taste as squirt.

I believe the new company is called Dr. Pepper Seven Up Bottling Group and will now be merging with All American Bottling and Southeast Atlantic, which will give Cadbury, it's own delivery network covering approximately 40 states.

I stand corrected: It's called Cadbury Schweppes Bottling Group.

Interesting website. They also have some history of the company, and pictures of their brands - Vernors in a barrel bottle, looks pretty cool.

I've had the stuff and it has to be the best energy drink out there. I live in the Puget Sound area of Washington.

are you serious?? i think it's OKAY. as far as citrus e-drinks go, i think boo-koo citrus and full throttle is a lot better. but, it's just my opinion. the sales of coolah here in my area is absolutely horrible.

Coolah is on the east coast. Saw it in CCE territory this weekend. It's very lemony.

The clock is ticking on this one..If Coolah is not gone in one years time I will revoke my own BEVNET membership (which may make some people on this board happy no doubt hah).

Seriously though, everything about this drink is a bad idea (packaging, concept, flavor). What was Cadbury thinking??

The Nutrition label says it has 2 servings per can. On the regular version that equates to 29g of sugar per serving. However on the FAQ's it list that each CAN has 150mgs of caffeine, ehich equates to 75mgs per serving. What a rip!

I couldn't get my dog out of bed with that much caffeine!

We've had it here for a few weeks. Way too strong of a flavor for me.

I just saw it in NY... when my mom bought me a tank of gas, because she got a dollar off gas, and I saw it in the cooler of a c-store. I may buy some in the future.

I was at a C Store in LA the other day, a Hispanic man came up to the counter with a can of Clamoto E Drink, I asked him how he liked it, he said he did not know it had Clamato in it and put it back, he bought a Full Throtle instead.

Energia !! its all in the marketing. Still a loser in my opinion. To focused of a demographic. Maybe brand people will one day understand you need to aim at the broadest part of the market, this targeted demographic stuff very rarely works.

Just for the record I will not be leaving Bevnet anytime soon and I will now consider myself the Nostrodamus of energy drinks, not that this one was hard to figure out...they only thing I was wrong about was that I thought it would take til November for this product to be pulled. It did not even make it that long. What was I thinking?~

Not bad, not great.

I liked it overall and it was different enough. It's all over San Francisco.
