Sounds really interesting. AMP is a solid product. I do hope the cherry is better balanced than Code Red. Def looking forward to a sample.

It's in stores where I'm at. Pretty tasty stuff. The cherry isn't as syrupy and sweet tasting as in Code Red - it's a little more in the background. Chalk it up to the slight, ambient e-drink bitterness, perhaps - or lessons learned from Code Red.

got it at woodmans today for 1.69, and i had it warm as it wasnt even in the cooler yet. it tasted a little like cough suryp, but that might be because it was warm...

01-27-2007, 08:13 PM
Well, considering my first impression of original Amp was that it tasted like Robitussin, I'd say your review is not too far off.

I've had a few already and I really like them. Definately more so than AMP, which was OK but had a weird finish. Thankfully it was at least vaguely similar to Mt Dew, so it wasn't horrible.

Anyway, with the cherry flavor it does have a nice bite and a smoother taste overall. It does come off a little syrupy but not nearly as bad as the Superman No Fear, which was almost exactly like cough syrup.

I do like it, and I'd buy it more frequently than others on the market.

i am going to proabaly get another today and let it get ice cold before drinking and see if that changes anything.

perfection, plain as that.

i went back, and they were in the coolers this time, and they had "buy 2 @1.69 each and get a dollar off" coupons, so i got two ice cold ones, much better. still cant really chug it, buy why would you really want to? very nice cherry flavor.

Edit: forgot a word

I wish Amp was sold here, I wish even more that Overdrive was.

It's two for three at one c-store near my house. I bought two of 'em.

It's very good. Has a very slight, and I mean very slight bitterness to it. But the cherry is not neary as artifical.

Don't chug it. Much Better than Sobe Superman... ick.

Amp Overdrive found in Delaware from PBG. Fairly short coded, though (6/18).

Yeah, my cans of AMP Overdrive had a date of 6/18 also, which is my Birthday!

All in all, Pepsi did a really good job with this product. smile.gif

june 18th here too! there only must be one bottler producing it for everyone...

Do they make this new AMP Overdrive in all the fun-sized cans that they made AMP in? And are they bringing the Overdrive over to California any time soon?

David J.

You'd think it'd launch in California first, as it's like the biggest Energy Drink market, no?

02-10-2007, 05:07 PM
Amp Overdrive is good. But it has that light cough syrup taste to it. Other than that it's good. It was $2.28 at Wal-Mart (Muskogee). Pepsi did a good job on the ED.

02-16-2007, 04:37 AM
Here's hoping they don't mix the berry flavor with Guarana like they did in the original Amp. :\

I saw a MD AMP on TV last night during American Choppers. I must say the add was very cool. smile.gif
