This is how I spent my Saturday, going from store to store looking for the new coke can! I found them hidden in a 12 pack fridge pack. The can looks great, and for the first time in a long time, 2 dynamic ribbons are on the can. Enjoy the pics!

thanks for all the pics!

they changed the font for "classic" and made it smaller. the wave is also different... less "dynamic" maybe. but... it looks good. very classic looking.

Same here some times the less the better.:)
IMO....the old school design is classic,
now Coca Cola please drop the "classic" print
on the lable. Pretty please.:)

This is what I was looking for! thanks jmyjunk! Great pics!

Now I see that the "classic" word is in the same font type as in the messages in the TV and print commercials in U.S...

and I almost get confused in the pic of the new can vs. the 1972 can, they look really similar!

I've been looking for the other pacakging, and, at least here, I have yet to see the 20oz, or 2lt. The Fridge packs sitll have the old look of Coca Cola.

I found the cans inside of an old 12 pack yesterday, they look nice. Also, on the coke coolers at walmart, there is a static cling advertising mycokerewards that has the new 20 oz bottle on it, but the bottles inside the cooler are still old.

Found these today, produced in Richmond VA (RM).

Cans inside of fridgepacks from Baltimore MD (BT) also have the new look, along with a Six Flags promotion. Boxes are still old look, along with 20oz and other packages.

Here in Mexico there's still the current graphics... but for me it's OK, no hurry... :D

The one that changed its label it's Coca-Cola Zero, but only a little change, the "O" from the zero word now has the same shape as the one of the european packaging, the rest is still the same...

the thing i don't like about the diet coke label is that you can barely see the "wave" on the packaging... it just sort of blends in with the (boring) gray background.

I haven't seen the new Caffeine Free Coke design yet. It's a fairly slow seller for us, we've dropped it in all packages except 2 liters and fridgepacks. Previously, we had 20oz, 24 pack cans and 16.9oz 6pks as well.

The new label of Caffeine Free Coke appears on the mycokerewards.com site... on the take a tour/participating brands section...

and BTW, in South Korea now the three versions of Coke have the new label and also the new bottle... check this out:

I found it very weird that Coke went with the "fake" sweating design on the 2-liter. It's not on any of the other packaging as it was before. Oh well.

We've even got the new 8oz Coke cans, it's got just one "Coca-Cola" script long ways and not from top to bottom like everything else. It looks pretty nice.

Do you guys have Dasani with MCR? I wasn't sure if it was coming anytime soon, we have it on the flavored brands, but not the original Dasani.

24 pack wraps are mycokerewards around here, both from CCE-Richmond VA and CCDA-Milesburg PA.

20oz Lemon have mycokerewards caps, but plain labels. Everything else is plain with plain caps as well. What's odd is that our 6pk 16.9oz flavored waters have been coming with dark blue caps, versus the normal teal caps.

I'm surprised they made a new look for Diet Cherry Coke - I thought that was being phased out. Wasn't sure if Diet Coke w/ Splenda was going to stick around either since they introduced Diet Coke Plus. I see that the new DCwS label has yellow as its primary color and not blue, so it's easily distinguishable from Plus. I also noticed the the lime variant is now Diet Coke Lime (no "with"), or at least that's what it says on the can. But all of those designs look slick.

BTW, the new-style Caffeine Free Coke bottles I've seen said "Classic".

Not so odd to me. In the early 90's countries such as France and Spain had their Caffeine free Coke in red cans with gold lettering.

Hey ,does anyone know in which markets does diet coke cherry sells the best i.e if it sells at all.The market share data compiled by AC Nielsen\IRI doesnt even count diet cherry as a separate brand .Its sales are included under the cherry coke brand meaning the brand doesnt have significant sales at all in most markets.

Abarta Coke owns the Bethlehem PA operations as well as Buffalo, Cleveland and Coatesville PA. They recently upgraded their Buffalo facility (code TW.. it's actually in Tonawanda NY) to produce 24oz 6pks. They ship them to the Bethlehem and Coatesville warehouses - I've seen them in Walmart and Turkey Hill Minit Marts (c-store chain).

They are also spottily available in Maryland and probably more available in Virginia.. from CCE's Richmond VA plant (code RM).

Thanks for the additional info fusion...I thought these were Abarta products, but the caps are marked "Bottled by a member of the Coca-Cola Bottlers' Association," which I thought was the mark of CCE. The code is, as you note, TW.

Turkey Hill was the store I found these in.

I remember buying 16-oz refillable Cokes in this market in the early 1990's. The crowns were marked "Bottled by Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Bethlehem/Cleveland/Buffalo (Tonawanda)". I don't think I've seen the name Abarta on anything but cans.

amyers
08-29-2007, 09:26 PM
No, that is not a mark of CCE. All caps say "Bottled by a member...." on the top, atleast all the caps I've ever seen unless they have their own custom caps.

fusion
08-29-2007, 11:35 PM
CCB is an association of all the Coke bottlers in the US (plus a few other countries). Within the past few years, most, if not all CCE cans and bottlecaps have switched to identifying the bottler/canner as "a member of the Coca-Cola Bottlers Association." Most of the other bottlers have switched as well. That is actually part of the reason why I've done so much research on the production codes, since you can't tell from looking at the package as to who filled it.
