The question is, does it taste anything like a freshly mixed Beam & Coke? I found the bottled Blackjack (Jack & Coke) was horrible.

Always mix your cocktails fresh, especially since 80 proof liquor does not like carbonated cola. Tends to make it flat...

I am thinking that the people who buy this to consume on a regular basis aren't too concerned with whether or not the cola is well carbonated or flat :D

Fair enough. But what about the cola alcopops fos us, the beverage aficianados? I guess we will have to do it the hard way, pouring two bottles into a glass with ice. Oh, what a horrible way to live life...

Well if it the one I have had in the past then it does taste like a real Beam and coke. This is actually Beam and coke and can only be bought in liquor stores. It's not one of those malt beverage types you can get anywhere. It's a bit stronger.

A real Beam and Coke is more than 5% alcohol. If you drink this, your going to waste valuable space on soda and not the Beam.

Personally the fun part is mixing the drink. The more you drink, the better a gasoline drink tastes. After 3 or 4 normal drinks, a 50/50% drink doesn't taste like nails on a chalk board and more like a fine gateway to a headache in the morning.

Just wondering since i have only seen them in liquor stores in the past. With it only being 5% could you sell it at a convinence store? Wonder if this is new or has it always been 5%?

I think I got this at a Meijer in the liquor section. I like it, its not bad but mixing the two with a bottle of Beam and a can of coca cola would taste a lot better.

Depends on the state. Some states, such as Ohio, allow "diluted liquor". You will see bottles with labels that are the same as, say Jim Beam, but a different color. But when you read the fine print it will say something like "Jim Beam liquor diluted with water to 25% alcohol content by XYZ Company".

Some states only allow beer-level alcohol contents if its made with malt. Even wine coolers are not allowed.

Nice. I didn't realize that this was available. I always liked Jim Beam black and R/C Cola. That was a nice combination.

How are drinks like Smirnoff Ice and Mike's Hard Lemonade made?

Do they just mix a malt liquor with a flavored syrup, and that's it?
