I saw on a soda collecting site, I think it was USASodas or something, but they had canned Dasani. I would imagine that it tastes disgusting.

Why do you assume it would taste disgusting?

After Hurricanes here in Florida and after Katrina a couple of years ago the AB bottler and Lite bottler would produce "emergency" rations of water and put them in cans.

I agree, Dasani water in a can would be very cool.
I do not know of any other Big Three 12oz caned water that is
available for the traditional can vending machines.

I would go ga for a 12oz can of carbonated Dasani via a
traditional can vending machine. My gut tells me that it would
be a vending big seller. I see more and more 12pks
of seltzer water being sold at the grocery stores. Thoughts?

Years ago when I worked for PBG in Denver we sold a canned water, it was even flavored. It was WAY Before its time. Didn't do well, mostly because no one could figure out if it belonged on the water aisle or on the soda aisle, so it was relegated to a "floating" spot in between.
I can't remember if it was carbonated or not, I don't think it was.

I can not remember the name but if I come with it I will share it with you all.

I would assume it would taste disgusting because of the can, it might produce a metallic taste.

I regularly drink 12oz caned Canfield Seltzer Water.
I do have a very sensitive sence of taste and to me it
tastes just as good as drinking it from a 16.9oz bottle.

IMO, going by your theory, soda pop would have a metallic
taste. Which IMO is not the case.:)

Canned Dasani probably would be okay in a can because they add minerals to it.

Purified/distilled water without added minerals (like Aqua Fina), however, would quickly pick up the metallic taste.

I remember reading that Dasani was produced in cans early in its run, and some people commented on the metallic taste.

I remember canned Perrier on Amtrak trains in the late 1980's. I had one of the cans but gave it to someone else to drink as I'm not a seltzer fan...was rather odd looking.

I was in Atlanta on business last week and I stopped by my brothers house. He sells liqour, and as you know ZABE, I sell on the exact opposite end of the spectrum in Health Nutrition, but I digress. He had this can sitting on top of his refridgerator. The funny thing is I have lived through 5 Hurricanes here in South Florida and I never saw a "live" product like this unless it was in one of my distributors warehouses. I never even saw it in the "water line" when FEMA was handing out Ice and water. How my brother in Atlanta got one I have No Idea!!!!!

In 2004 I remember Deja Blue water in a can. I thought it tasted more pure than
the plastic bottle.

Purchased Dasani in cans in North Carolina and Deja Blue in Cans in Texas.
I would rather drink the water from cans then a plastic bottle.

Canned water is a strange concept, and I'm wondering if it'll fizz a bit when cracking open the can. What other still drinks come out of a can?!

There all kinds of non carbonated drinks in a can.
Ice tea, lemon aid, apple juice, orange drink (10% juice).......

Opening non carbonated drinks from a can is no big deal.
I shake the can, let it rest a few seconds, tap on the top
and then open it. I never have a can spray up at me.

I guess that's true. It's still so weird for me to wrap my head around. Is it already for sale?

Canned water? I dunno. I think I would be willing to try it, but, as Greg said, I'd be concerned about the potential for a mettalic taste. However, if it was straight carbonated water I am out. I am not a fan of anything that is carbonated but not sweet.

Yeah, I was brain washed by my uncle when I was a kid.
He was a big time soda pop drinker. He had a passion
for throat burn carbonation. He use to do seltzer water
shots just for the burn. LOLOL Peace out.:)
