I know these are being tested in South Carolina, but where? Anybody got pics?

No luck finding them (from a friend of mine), hopefully we'll get more information soon.

Thanks Aaron. I've put the word out to my contacts up there too but no luck so far. Thanks!

Are these glass or plastic bottles?

16oz Coke bottles are hardly new and novel. IIRC, as late as the early 1990, 16oz bottles were the norm. These game in glass and had styrofoam lables on them. Slowly, they started making these 16oz bottles into plastic with a "bonus" of 4oz. I would almost guess that these new 16oz Coke bottles will be sold as a premium.

Yea, I have hundreds of these bottles you speak of. It's not a new idea, but they are coming back if the test markets proves itself, which it appears it is. The reason is the pricing. These will be offered at $.99 opposed to the $1.40 and up for the 20oz. Coke is trying to win back customers that have strayed due to rising costs of the 20 oz. This $.99 is supposedly preset.

They're doing .99 16oz and 1.29 or 1.49 for 24oz (replacing 20oz and 1L) in 64 of their home market stores. Depending on how this goes, they are looking to expand the program in 2008.

They would be just like the regular 20oz bottle or older contour bottle and would be plastic with new or old caps.

I think the .99 16oz is a good idea. I've given up on 20oz since the price has gone over $1.19 plus I never drink the whole bottle.

I'll hazard a guess and say that the 16-oz bottles will be like the 500 mL bottles currently being sold in multi packs. And as jmyjunk pointed out, 16-oz is hardly a new idea.

It's not the idea of 16oz that was the purpose of this topic it was : (1) Find the items (2) Express and discuss that CCBCC might be thinking about getting rid of the 20oz category all together (that's the new concept)

.. I'm just saying :)
