I hope this is the right place for this question.
While looking for info about the defunct Greensburg Bottling Company (and other defunct KY/IN bottlers) I found some references (pictures, mostly) of some other apparently obscure/obsolete cola brands. I was wondering if anyone had any idea what type of cola they were, and when/if they went out of business.
These first four, I think, were bottled by Double-Cola (or Seminole Flavors). I thought a couple of them might have been earlier names for Double Cola, but they appear to have been marketed at the same time:
Double-Line (was bottled in Hopkinsville, KY, and elsewhere)
Double Treat
Double Chocolate
Dixieland (bottled by Double Cola in MS in '50's - maybe a fruit flavored drink?)
These others I am also curious about:
Julep (guessing mint flavored, but was apparently a "dark" cola)
Jump (Indianapolis, IN - not the newer energy drink)
Jurk (grapefruit flavored soda, bottled in Paducah, KY)
Cumberland Valley Beverages
The CV Beverages were bottled in Corbin, Kentucky, by 7-Up. They had somewhat unique bottles that featured a small train graphic that apparently went most of the way around the center of the bottle.
Thanks!
