This is unbelievable. I can't wait for it to become mainstream!

Seems a bit excessive to me, lol.

I mean, really.. do we need 100 different flavors? Seems like they'd be digging at the bottom of the barrel to come up with 100 good flavors.

I think it's a great idea, time to resurect some of the brands that have been killed by PNCA and CCUSA. Brands like: Howdy, NEHI, Hires, Dad's, Double Cola, Kick A Poo Joy Juice, Mason's, Kick, Ski, Crush, Nesbitts etc.

09-02-2008, 01:43 PM
I am hoping that may mean that brands from other countries can be shared with us. Maybe, just maybe, I will be able to get Japanese beverages from Michigan.... I would love a machine that had all the different Fanta flavors, wouldn't you?

09-07-2008, 04:53 AM
I'm for it. Maybe then I can get Vault Zero on Long Island for the first time in years.

Selling in the glass bottle industry, in the past year I've had and still have Nehi, Dad's, Crush, Nesbitt's and have had Kickapoo Joy Juice and Ski and know I've seen Mason's, Double Cola and Kick. they're out there, you just have to know where to go.

Maybe i can finally get Mello Yello here in Houston... ;)

There is a Five Guys coming to Houston, maybe they'll have it on tap (they have it at the ones around here).

100 flavors, yet they'll still manage to exclude Barq's Red Creme....

Coke begins testing new Freestyle dispenser*| ajc.com (http://www.ajc.com/business/coke-begins-testing-new-98152.html?cxtype=rss_business_87653)

Coke is testing the new Freestyle dispenser at 10 Jack in the Box locations in San Diego County, and other installations are planned for this summer in other chains in Southern California. Some restaurants in Atlanta are also testing the new fountain.

very cool idea!

Here's another article on it, from Fast Company:

Unfortunately, for some reason, the video is private. But I looked around on YouTube, and found another copy.

Wow! That machine's very impressive. I hope these start reaching a larger market sooner rather than later. Thanks for the link, fusion.

But man, that guy's eyes... creepy!

Here's a pic of the machine at one of the Jack in the Box locations...

That has got to be a nightmare. Can you imagine waiting behind someone as the try and decide which of the dozens of flavors they want to try? And what's with having to ask a Jack in the Box crew member for Dr Pepper?

The concept is interesting, but in practice a system like this could be a nightmare.

A touch screen interface? I can just imagine a 70-year old going up to this thing and having no idea how to get just a coke.

Still, I'm all for anything that brings more options to the typical fast food drink service. It's pathetic that Diet Coke or Diet Pepsi are the only diet options in the vast majority of places.

Raspberry Coke! Orange Coke! I might have to track down one of these machines in San Diego...

I just found out there's one of these at the Burger King just a few miles from my home. I'm gonna go check it out tomorrow.

09-30-2009, 11:44 PM
In the Burger King picture I saw, they had two of them set up.

There is also talk of expanding them to 40-50 additional markets in 2010.

I hate anyone who has used one of these with a white hot fiery passion. I want to try it so bad.

10-01-2009, 04:07 AM
Any way to figure out where these machines are located? I'm in Southern CA so there's bound to be one near me...just need to know where. ;)

10-01-2009, 10:59 AM
The facebook fan page has a complete list of sites.

Thanks! Found it: Coca-Cola Freestyle ™ Links | Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/cocacolafreestyle?v=app_2309869772#/cocacolafreestyle?v=app_10339498918)

How unfortunate that none of those locations are anywhere near Los Angeles. :(

10-06-2009, 12:36 AM
Since when isn't Anaheim near Los Angeles? Newport, Huntington, Orange--I don't know Southern Cali that well, but generally speaking, you can get to those if you want. I know it's not a quick stroll, but some of us live 15-20 hour drives from a machine and would kill to be just an hour away or less.

10-13-2009, 01:51 AM
Hopefully it will come to our metro area (Pittsburgh, PA). I wouldn't mind having different flavors of Fanta (strawberry, pineapple, grapefruit, and other flavors of Fanta). Regular old flavors of coke, sprite, orange, grape Fanta, gets old after a while.

Things are looking good for the Freestyle - Coke is investing $100 million to expand their Atlanta syrup plant to produce the concentrated flavor cartridges.

And again the mention of the 40-50 market expansion in 2010.

Some questions.

1. Is this new machine sort of like the old school movie theater fountain

2. Are there pre-set flavors like Coke Cherry or do you have to select cherry and then Coke?

3. Any idea of the typical price point?

4. Will these machines be more labor intensive in terms of maintenance?

11-01-2009, 07:37 PM
Zabe, there's a Youtube video on page two that shows how it works. But basically, there is an opening screen with the main brands, and when you select the brand, it brings up a submenu with the flavors that brand is available in.

I need to open a youth tube account, I'm too lazy to open one now.
I did go back and found the list of flavor choices.
OMG....HiC Grape..YUM
This new machine should keep me happy for a long time.

You don't need an account to view the videos. If you want to save videos as your favorites, then you need an account. Or if you want to post your own videos.

OK, I just saw that video.
This new fountain is just amazing!
IMO....this new machine is just the "shot in the arm" that will
will create some brand buzz and increase fountain sales.
I'm betting that this machine will become a "destination" sales demand for
all sorts of retail/restaurants (fast food and self serve buffets).

The facebook fan page has a complete list of sites.

I can't find the list, where will they be?

11-15-2009, 06:39 PM
Given that they're adding sweetener at the last minute, maybe they could have SUCROSE as an option!
