View Full Version : New Pepsi Max flavor?

01-29-2010, 08:28 PM
I found some info about 3rd degree burn Doritos and asked about it on the chip forum and someone replied that they will be out in February in a promotion with a new Pepsi Max flavor. Anyone know what it might be or if it's legit?

I may have answered my own question, I found this on the main page:

Cease Fire, Blackjack Cherry, Aces Wild Cherry, Fire Chaser, and Lime Chaser are all names they have trademarked for Pepsi Max. Cease Fire and Fire Chaser seem to be the most probable to go with 3rd Degree Burn Doritos

Yeah, I saw that news story the other day. All but the Lime ones sound interesting to me. I wonder how many of them are really in the works, and if they will all be aspartame sweetened.

I thought I'd mention this sometime somewhere around here - For me, since I seldom go to the homepage here, but a while back I discovered the "Test" forum theme in the Style Chooser box down at the bottom left part of the screen. With that you get the latest 4 Headlines and Industry News popping up on the Forum page. So this way I see the latest headlines right away. (the only thing I don't like about it is that this extra box covers some of the formatting options when I post)

I know somebody posted here that a cherry Pepsi Max was supposed to be coming in early 2010. A lime version would be great too.

Cease fire and lime flavor double confirmed..have not tried it yet..probably at our upcoming sales rally.

Of course, the two that were of least interest to me are the ones they picked.

I tried Cease Fire at the NACS show. Terrible stuff. Watch out for Black Jack Cherry Max this summer. That one interests me.

So they are coming out with a cherry version after all... I assume it will be black cherry based on the name?

I'm still looking forward to trying Cease Fire in spite of the negative early reviews. I'm one of the few people who liked Diet Pepsi Lime.

The current Maxim magazine has an ad featuring both First Degree Burn and Cease Fire.

I think I posted about a cherry version of Pepsi Max however they might have changed it up within the past few months or so..it was cherry originally. Also to the people that have tried it at my stores(already avid max drinkers)...they love it as much as they do pepsi max sooo..why not try it? :)

Here's a picture of the label, as tweeted by Beverage Digest.

Promo spot seen in part 1, full screen (it was even mentioned during the presentation it would be on YouTube): YouTube - Pepsi Max Cease Fire Lime Skit (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RdzsI6cEBpM)

This is from a kickoff presentation in the Holiday, Florida area apparently. Not sure why something like it ended up on YouTube, and I guess for you industry guys this kind of meeting is probably old hat, but it was definitely interesting as a "civilian" to watch. Plus it confirms the products and how the campaign is going to unfold, at least how this one particular bottler sees it.

Anyone have a date for the nationwide release of Cease Fire? I'm guessing in time for March Madness if this is going to be presented to men, since that's the bulk of high exposure men's programming in March.

That should be good.

BTW, where is the Doritos at??? I have yet to see them anywhere.

2 lters of Cease Fire found in Ithaca, NY today.

02-24-2010, 02:18 AM
I also found 2-liters in Woodbridge, NJ. I'll hold out for the 20-ouncers though. No sign of the 1st/2nd/3rd Degree Burn Doritos yet.

Saw the 2 liters in a couple stores tonight here in IL.

Found Cease Fire in 20 oz. bottles. I like it - tastes pretty similar to Diet Pepsi Lime, but maybe a bit mellower and less diety.

Found 20oz tonight here in DE. From plant PY, so it should be fairly easy to find in NJ, eastern PA, etc.

It's pretty good - it gives off a nice lime aroma, and the lime flavor mostly covers up the diet-y taste.

Found 2-Liters in SoCal today, and I'm drinking some now. It's a little better than Diet Pepsi Lime, much in the same way that Max is slightly better than Diet Pepsi.

A Cherry Pepsi Max should be great, since Diet Pepsi Cherry is already pretty damn good.

Found some coupons for it in a Hess Express. It says buy one 20oz, get either one of the three Dorito flavors free. Unfortunitely, they didn't have it (I think they might have old two whole spaces full of it, or are awaiting it).

03-01-2010, 02:27 PM
That seems to happen a lot around here (mostly at 7-Eleven) - the coupons arrive before the actual product.

03-01-2010, 09:21 PM
it looks like they moved the 0 "zero" graphic to the top of the bottle. i wonder if that will change on the other diet products too.

03-05-2010, 04:23 AM
Liked line pepsi max....first time I tried Pepsi max. I am looking forward to cherry. BTW..the burn Doritos is good also.

03-09-2010, 06:03 PM
I thought it was good, but not lime-y enough to differentiate it enough from regular Max to make it a regular purchase for me. But the supermarket near me is having specials on Cease Fire, so I'll be buying that while they're cheap.

03-09-2010, 09:28 PM
look for the cherry max in a few months..more details to come.

03-24-2010, 05:09 PM
Burn Doritos are Delicious. Pepsi max is very good. But damn is(was?) this promotion short lived.

Saw the 2 liters in a couple stores tonight here in IL.

Bumping this because I actually saw Cease Fire in stores a few days ago - it was expired 2 liters and 20 oz. bottles in a dollar store. Quarter each for the 20 oz., and it still tastes pretty good despite the date being May something.

10-03-2010, 02:48 PM
Cease Fire Pepsi Max tastes great, I still have 5-6 bottles of them in my house.

10-05-2010, 06:05 AM
I want Cherry damn it.

I want Cherry damn it.

Me too, that sounds so good. I love cherry flavored sodas.
