The only reason this even makes sense for Reeds is distribution and new shareholders to buy stock. The only way it makes sense for Jones is survival.

I assume this is what you're referring to:
Reed's to buy Jones Soda at deep discount for $10 million - Mar. 9, 2010 (http://money.cnn.com/2010/03/09/smallbusiness/jones_soda/)

I think it's a bad move on Reed's part, unless they take Jones back to its' roots, abandon the 8pk/12pk cans, and focus on the glass.
Yes, it will give Reed's a larger and more competitive portfolio, but is Jones too "juvenile" for an "adult" company like Reed's?

If you read the fine print of the deal "if" reeds cannot get the cash they will just give stock??? Even as it stands this potentially comes to .27 cents per share. Big red was offering .30 in cash??? This at least would have let the shareholders decide what would happen to there money. If it benefits the guys at the top then its a good deal the shareholders will get whats left.
