Pepsi and diet pepsi dont have the word "cola" anywhere on the product.

Am i wrong or is this true? Even though most people not living in a cave know what is in a pepsi, i still think they have to say what the product actually is.

Yeah, that's been true for many years now. About the only time you've seen the word "cola" was on the first version of Throwback. I'm not sure when Pepsi dropped the small PEPSI-COLA that used to be on the side of the cans. Maybe it got dropped when they put that "very low sodium" info above the nutrition facts box. You used to see it there before that. Like this example from the late 90s.

Does this mean there is no longer any actual Kola Nut in Pepsi?

My guess is that it was a marketing scheme to segment the Pepsi brand as not
just a Cola,Coke,or Coca Cola soda pop. The perception that Pepsi was a premium
cola that did not need to use part of it's competitors name (Cola) in it's

Pepsi still uses a 'cola' designation in Canada, but not the "Pepsi-Cola" name. For example, cans have 'cola' printed next to the net contents designation (e.g. '355 mL cola').

Dont they have to put cola on the label somewhere? I believe Tide says detergent and Kleenex says tissues on the box etc...????
